If for some reason Pro_rome changes his mind, I'll take it (for my sister's TRD Off-Road)...

Great post and very informative! Always good to see crystal clear information being put out there to protect buyers from being tricked into false purchases.

I assume you’re talking to me so the answer is yes, it’s guaranteed to fit. No errors will arise from the use of the grill if you use an oem garnish, I will be testing replica garnishes shortly to see what I can do about this whole situation.
As far as the fit goes, don’t take my word for it here’s a thread with a few reviews of my stuff, https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...es-local-san-diego-pickup-shipped-140.554247/

Hi just wanted to see when you expect the grilles to be back in stock? I was looking at your site and for $250 (with the garnish) it was backordered. Thanks!

I should have everything by the end of the week, except for white and red lettering.

It’s absolute horseshit that Toyota claims it’s a PCS update. I have an OEM Pro Grille that I self-installled. On my old grille and the current one, the sensor was able to be manipulated in and out because of the lack of screws to support it.

It’s fairly obvious that the hook it up, make PCS “update,” and then just spray on that sealant to secure it. Their “update” is basically just rebooting the system.

FWIW and what I was wondering prior to coming in for my recall, there were no questions asked. My guess is either a cool dealer, or they looked for the serial number on my grille and determined it was genuine and good to go.

@FreshMexicanTaco been scouring the globe for this OEM garnish at reasonable price and am well aware of the inflated dealership situation. Thanks for the writeup. I've deduced most of this info as well from my recent searches. I was able to get a hold of an OEM grill but need the sensor. Any chance you'd let go of one of the remaining OEM garnishes?

@FreshMexicanTaco when I purchased the grill from you there wasn't any options for letter colors. Is there anyway to get letters separately?

According to the tracking numbers I should have everything today, I have a few backordered so I will be shipping those first but I should be able to gt everything out by tomorrow or Friday.

Yes shipping confirmation emails will go out as soon as your items are shipped, if you ordered Sunday that should be no later than Friday.

I'm sorry man until I can secure a new source of OEMs or some good replicas I have to hold on to what I have for my grilles.

Would you mind sharing a link?

    What color did you want?

    AJ,

I sent you a PM, then finally just now placed an order for a grill with black letters and garnish installed.

I’ve been going back and forth with which grill to get and finally thought to myself this is probably the safest bet. I did see the order said “backordered”.

Will this be a problem or do you have enough stock to get mine out? Order # 13149

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that you new Taco owners and guys just getting around to getting the grill are having to deal with Toyota's games!

I luckily got my OEM grill and garnish just before their grill price increase in Jan/Feb 2018.

I bought my Taco in February. Just a couple weeks later I went back to the dealer to buy a pro grill and at first they ordered it, then a few days later they called me back and told me they could not sell me one because corporate wouldn’t allow it.

I’ve been hesitant about replacing my grill because I heard it can mess with some of the dashboard functions. I guess since I have a 2017, I’m safe? What about any type of warranty issues? If I need to get warranty work, do I just swap the original back in before bringing it to a dealership?

    Thanks!

Choose buyer to Daytona Tacoma — mine should arrive today so I’ll provide an update after work. But based on the photos it looks to be oem and the vendor is an official dealer

On a vehicle without the TSS module you shouldn't have any issues at all with a direct swap of grills since there's nothing else attached to it. I couldn't think of anything that Toyota could claim a warranty issue with by swapping the grill on a non-TSS equipped vehicle but hey, they're full of surprises so who knows.

2017, so you’re safe. No warranty issues. It has to be directly related to the issue you bring your truck in for. Sure, they can deny it, but you’ll probably be able to scare them into doing it or get it done at another dealer.
