Let me get this straight that after Toyota went up 2x on the grill and 10X on the garnish that people are still buying them? Wow. The only thing more shocking is that Toyota is still requiring a VIN.

I'm not sure anyone is paying $300+ for the garnish. If I could find one around $150 like some people were finding the last ones for I might bite just to avoid issues with the knockoffs. It is super strange Toyota made this move to block sales on the grill though. Probably worried about TSS issues, but instead why not just allow dealerships to charge for a calibration and continue selling a bunch of grills?

Legit. Still available. ...and he is not gouging... $50

    https://ebay.us/cEhVGe

I bought an OEM grill for my 2019 and bought the counterfeit garnish before i was able to find the legit part. The counterfeit garnish is working fine for me, so i ended up buying the legit OEM anyway but i decided to keep it aside in my parts box just in the event the fake garnish fails for some reason.

That is almost certainly a fake a that price. MSRP is like $437 now.

...and you would be unquestionably incorrect about it being a fake, ...but there is no sin in that. ...but whatever. ...dont care. ...got mine. ...its legit. ...bought it two weeks ago.

Dont agree? I dont care about that either. Just trying to help a guy. Lol.

I dont engage in d#@k measuring. Dont need to. I'm good.

Ok guy with 2 posts. Care to share pictures of it from when you got it? Or details of how you know it’s real? It would be awesome if it’s true, but if you want to pass off a fake as real the price should be at least somewhat close to actual to be believable. When something seems too good to be true....well you know.

Without seeing the back you will never be able to tell. The fronts look the same. Backs are different. I got lucky and found a OEM garnish for cheap. Seller was not aware of what she had. My gain.

Look like a pro grill to me, funny thing I was having service done at the dealership last week, I asked the parts guy about being able to get a pro grill without a pro vin he said that was not needed at this anymore, He played on the keyboard like a virtuoso pianist then spun the monitor around to show me what I could buy it for.... over $1000.00!!! this is with the garnish he said, which I said mine is a 2017 don’t think I need that? he said oh and spun the monitor back around. I said thanks.. went and sat in the waiting room and ordered one from Caliraised. $279.99 due to be delivered Friday. Looks like you may not need the vin but as expected be prepared to pay a premium.

I can confirm this seller’s part is legit! (As of July 4 anyway) I purchased mine in early July before the price hike, it came wrapped in the Genuine paper packaging with crisp clean Toyota stampings. Never had any disable lights/warnings in the 3 months it’s been installed. Take a look at the seller’s other items, all Genuine parts...I guess it’s always gonna be ‘Buyer Beware’ due to the number of fakes for sale out there. I kept the packaging to wrap up the original grill piece....

Once again, buy at your own risk, I’m just sharing my experience with this seller as of this past July...

Are you referring to the jp-genuine seller linked above? Do you have any pics of the back of your part? The packaging does look correct.

Yes, jp-genuine was the seller. Sorry, no photos were taken of the rear garnish before installing.

Well for about $10 more than the average fake I guess it's worth the gamble. They do offer returns too so.

No I was just curious before purchasing anything. Now someone said the 2020s have a different garnish? I don’t know. My 2020 sport shows up between 10/7 - 10/9 so I wanted to check a few places before actually buying something.
