Have zero issues with my after market garnish just FYI. Lots of them around. And the issues that I’ve read were easy fixes.

Where did you get your grill and garnish?

Ebay. Just looked for one that wasn’t coming all the way across the ocean. No issues and I’ve compared it to others and you can’t tell the difference. I put it off for awhile but I’m pleased with it

I wouldnt buy that before trying out the aftermarket garnish first. I have aftermarket and it works just fine.

It's not so much it working that I'm concerned about. I've seen some pictures of the one from Taco Garage and it wasn't even close to matching the grill.

None of them look good as far as matching goes.

None of them match the grill. Even the oem one doesnt match.

The garnish is gloss black with silver lines printed on it, the grill is flat black

don't use the garnish if you don't want to. If you live in an area with good weather and debris free roads, you may be ok without it. However, as mentioned, even if you go OEM garnish and grille, they won't match.

I’ve often wonder if a clear piece of plexiglass on the inside of the grill over the sensor would work.

you can vinyl cover the garnish without it affecting the sensor. Xpel Stealth film is satin/matte and will cut down on the silver while still maintaining the design, or you could just flat black the whole thing.

    Nothing major
I switched to an aftermarket pro grill and aftermarket garnish, zero issues. Then lifted it 1.5”/1” and added wheels/taller tires, zero issues.

Also, I tinted the garnish. Easy to do and helped it be a lot less noticeable.

If you're worried about the garnish not matching, check out c_mento_taco_808 on Instagram. He does some pretty cool custom vinyl pieces for both the pro garnish and the toyota emblem cover.

You can get an OEM grill under $200 if you use the part # for the pro grille that comes with the TRD lift kit. Still need the garnish.. I found out about this after I had installed my grill from Tacovinyl with no issues with TSS.

Note: It does ask for a PRO VIN for the order form. Just find one online, they are everywhere.

This dealer site doesn’t seem to need a vin. Both places are legit Toyota, Ive ordered many parts from both.

This is very helpful...I'm still waiting for ship status for my order from Empyre. It's been 8 days ago today since I ordered.
