Got myself a clean little first gen (2003 Double cab 4X4) super stoked!
Plan is to give it a fresh makeover. Wheels, tires, lights, new paint job, etc. I want a clean, OEM"ish" daily driver.

    First is the grill build.
Started off with a stock donor. Bolted it up in a jig(to retain its shape) and cut the heck out of the center
    [IMG]

Next, I purchased a 2nd gen TRD PRO Style grill. Cut that out and started mocking them up together

I was very surprised with how the curves and couture matched the 1st gen shape.

Little body work at the bottom but not bad.

Backside was fiber glassed reinforced (3 layers)

The front was filled in with bumper repair(bonds to both plastic sides) then sanded smooth.

Still have to mount the side vents but overall I'm pretty happy with it. Not a @HomerTaco grill but good enough:oops:

Is there anything you don't do well my friend? Looks beautiful and I'm very pumped to see it on the truck, and the truck itself.

    Thanks grill master:thumbsup:

Gracias:) I try and go all out any anything I make. Plans for the first gen are some Bronze/gold wheels, Spruce mica paint, painted bumpers, brake upgrade and some kings. I can't wait.

Beautiful work mate! I've been dying to do a one off grill on my 3rd gen but never had the motivation to tackle the project, you just hit it it out of the park with that quality custom build. Love seeing custom work like this, keep it up mate!

I know you don't want to, but you're gonna have to start producing these bud. Sorry, but its required by a new law just passed:

"H.B.2003: Meso Greatest Gen Mod Command"

    Passed unanimously.

Edit: for color, isn't it Imperial Jade, not spruce mica? I have a 2003 double cab and its imperial jade. Maybe I'm confused tho.

Spruce Mica was a second gen color. Nothing wrong with putting a second gen color on a first gen. Spruce mica is the best IMO.
