Hey guys I was at a Toyota parts department and a sales man said Toyota is going to stop selling TRD grills to just anyone, if you want one you're gonna have to have a TRD PRO vin number, he said it's due to non availability for actual pro owners who needs one due to damage or replacement. So I guess you better get one while you can if you been thinking about it. Please don't start trash talking me, I'm just posting what a rep told me. I know y'all have a Toyota rep that's giving us deals so if y'all wanna confirm with him or maybe he will chime in.

Not trash talking you at all but I find it hard to believe they would quit selling them as they are a making profit hand over fist on them.

I'm kind of bothered by the pro grill. I know its much nicer looking and all but I feel like its just posing.

Kind of like the dumb fucks that buy a 335i BMW and slap an M badge on it.
Just faking what they bought lol.
I like the grill, but won't buy it for that very reason.

This may be what they are saying, but it's absurd and not enforceable. When the trd pro first came out they told me the Same thing. I went to autotrader, got the vin off a listed truck and gave it to them and was able to order the parts I wanted. Rules are meant to be broken by people who are smarter then the people who made the rules. Be smart and get what you want.

Putting on a Pro grill is not the same as putting on a TRD Pro door badge. The grill just comes with a pro. It doesn't say pro it.

I agree it's dumb. But that's not the same as a PRO grille on a Taco. A BMW M series is actually faster and a very different car. Slapping a PRO grille on a non-PRO only insinuates the driver got wallet raped at the dealer. It doesn't suggest the truck is actually any better (because a PRO really isn't).

This is kind of my point. Saying it's an Off-Road suggests it has a differential locker and bed outlets. Not that those are a huge deal. But at least it's suggesting a difference.

Question for all you sticker/badging/grill purists.

Are you removing anything that says TRD from your truck?

'Cause nothing there was developed via racing. :D

Let's call it a heritage grill instead of pro grill and we won't be accused of posing. The stock chrome grill on the OR looks horrible. For me it was OEM heritage or a third party (not going to even consider a non-oem knockoff). OEM won.
