TRD Pro Grill thetacogarage.com?

Anyone know whats up with thetacogarage? I wanted to purchase the 3rd gen TRD pro grill, but saw it was "available backorder." Tried to email the contact info there and haven't heard anything back in 4 or 5 days. Anyone purchase one recently? Did it still ship or did you get any email letting you know what the wait time was?

 

send @FreshMexicanTaco a pm on here. I bought one like 5 weeks ago and he was super on top of it. Great fitment also.

In that case, be sure to check out the DSM / DMM. It is a stellar mount.

No problem! For me, it is simply the best base for phone, tablet, or radio mounting for the 3rd Gen: The DSM is a smaller version that only supports one RAM ball. If you're getting the grille, you might want to tack a DMM / DSM on?

 

That's actually pretty spot on timing lol I was about to get a phone mount because entune sucks and I got tired of sticking my phone into a cup holder for maps that actually make sense.

 

Since you weren't familiar with @FreshMexicanTaco , I sort of guessed that you might not have seen the mount. There was a lot of thread refreshing to get to that point.

 

I tried that a week or so ago and never heard anything from him.... Ended up just paying a little more from Taco Twonz. Sucks, because he was local too, but no contact translates to poor customer service in my experience....

I'm not disagreeing with your decision, but @FreshMexicanTaco is a one guy business. Given the time of year, he might be on vacation?

 

I bought one from The Taco Garage on August 1st and received it on the 8th of August. It said it was on backorder but still received it in 8 days.
The grille is so much better then the ones on eBay, the "TOYOTA" is screwed in instead of taped on.

 

Yeah, don't get me wrong. I'm not badmouthing the guy or anything. I've heard that his grill is the best. I just wanted one asap and so I paid to get one from somewhere that was responsive.

 

I ordered one last week and got it within a few days. The website said available back order but he had mentioned in another thread he had a new shipment arriving that day so I went ahead and ordered.

 

it seems like the demand for his grills has gone up so his response time is longer but last november I PM'd on here and got his number then went and picked up my grill 30 mins later. he even installed for an extra $20.

 

Supposed to receive mine today according to the tracking info and UPS. I ordered it around two weeks ago but apparently something went screwy with the delivery. Funny thing is I got the confirmation email from them just two or three days ago saying my order was complete.

I took a long time to make up my mind on what grill to get because I didn’t want any TSS problems. My understanding is that he has the best so I went with him. I’ll report back after I install it.

 

I wasn't sure when it would be back in stock and didn't want to spend the money and have it held up in the purchase if more weren't on the way. Found one one ebay for 99 bucks and just went with that and a OEM TSS garnish just now.

I've also read the taco garage grill is one of the best aftermarket grills, so I hope the eBay one meets my standards.

 

I just posted in his sales thread. I couldn’t recommend his grills more. Honestly one of the best products I’ve bought on this or any other site. I’ve bought a lot of stuff here that had glowing recommendations only to find later that in reality it didn’t live up to the hype. This grill is the opposite. It is way better than expected. I doubt I could tell it from an OEM part. It looks and fits perfectly. Everything came together without a smidgeon of a hitch and that may be the first time in my life I could say that.

The main thing I was concerned about was the TSS and I’m happy to report it works perfectly. Took it for a spin around town and on the highway. Everything is absolutely perfect.

If anyone is considering one of these I’d highly recommend you jump on it while he still has some good stock left. They’re only going to be harder to come by as word gets out about how good his stuff is.

 

So many PRO grills out there. If only there was another option that has a PRO style with a custom twist....
