There are many different variations of this grille.
    Some cheaper than others.
Just because you are getting the cheaper faux grille doesn't mean better.
I have seen some in the $200 range that look excellent, and others in the mid 100's that look like crap.
They are not all the same.

I used some fletching (archery) glue and spot glued the pins to endure they don't pull.

It will be interesting in 3 years how many grilles will need to be replaced.

I’m glad we’re on the same page.
I wasn’t referring to you specifically though. I was referring to those individuals who made those claims.

It's strange that you can buy the oe '18 Pro grill for as low as $170 but the 16-17's are running $450. I would buy the '18 grill and find the plastic garnish for the 16-17. I have one sitting in my garage.

My order just got cancelled by EB TOYOTA PARTS because I don't own a Pro. They said Toyota told them to stop placing orders for the grill for non-Pro customers for 6-8 months.

I have a 2018 TRD OR with TSS and need the sensor to still work. Where can I get a grill that will allow the sensor? I was trying to order PT228-35180.

Smells like BS to me...why wouldn’t they want revenue? It’s a free world. Try searching that part from the internet and find an out of state dealer, you won’t pay taxes and shipping won’t be more than $20. Try Royal South Toyota in Indiana (online) that’s where I got all my stuff to redo my front end, chrome delete, body colored side view covers, black lower valence, garnish piece, etc. and I’m in SoCal.

You can also give them the middle finger and go China on thier a$$e$.

Yes, there is a 2nd gen variant that tries to preserve this look, but not quite the same.

I was thinking maybe Toyota is getting too many parts requests and can't fulfill them all or doesn't want to produce them all to keep it "cool". I don't know. I just placed the order again through an online Toyota dealer nearby and put a TRD Pro VIN # as the VIN. We'll see if it goes through.

Does the garnish cover a hole in the grille?

Nice! Outsmart the system...they’ll have to fulfill that for sure! Who’s to say you didn’t hit a rock or bird and needed a new one!

Epoxy is better as it hardens as a rock. superglue will deteriorate quickly in the elements.

Search the internet “2014 tacoma pro grill” or put that same search on eBay or Amazon. The OEM ones are upwards of $300 not sure why...

I just picked up mine from Toyota today and will install it once the weather warms up. Which will probably be tomorrow.
