TRD Pro Grille for $140?

I bought one. Not quite the OEM but the fit and look are spot on. Only difference was that I had to attach the “t” and “a” myself. Happy with the purchase. Unless you know and are up close you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. I’d buy again.

Pic? Cause your default profile pic shows the 16-17 honeycomb piece, that’s not a garnish and would not be compatible with 18. The glossy garnish is actually smooth on both sides so the radar doesn’t deflect.

 

Installed mine last night. Ordered off Amazon.

 

Ordered one off ebay from BruceShark-001. I was pleased that it was the two piece one. Didn't have to install or glue any letters, just screw the TOYOTA part to the honeycomb part and done.

Mine came in this week from ebay. I picked it up yesterday and no broken tabs or anything. It was one piece with glue on letters. Probably going to have a "mod" day and install it plus the hidden light bar and hood struts.

 

hows the fitment between the grill and colored shroud? is there a noticeable gap?

Ok, i do have the "honeycomb" piece, I thot if I took that off, the garnish could replace it neatly and I could use it in the future for a retro TSS upgrade? I like the adaptive cruise control.

 

That is true my friend, as far as how the upgrade would tie into your system, it may be a little bit involved than you think as it ties into your ECU computer and display above your odometer...it requires completely different software and not to mention I’m not even sure it’s pre wired so this upgrade may not even be possible.

 

Definitely worth getting the two piece design even if it costs a little extra. Taping and gluing the letters was a PITA.

I like it just fine. It's plenty bright enough. Haven' had to use it for extended amount of time but it worked good when I needed to use it

Took my awhile to install as I could not get 2 tabs to click, finally did. I used the tape that came with the letters to install and on the back, I used JB Weld to add extra at the letter tabs
Very happy with results

 

Is the grille the 2 piece one?

 

No, it’s one piece and you have to install the letters with the included double sided tape. It does have the little removable section for the 2018 model.
