I used touch up spray can from paint scratch https://www.paintscratch.com/ There is a pic about 1 page back with the can I got from them

I think I ended up with a 16 layer paint job on my letters, mostly because I got the wrong paint color the first time.
I lightly sanded all the letters with 400grit before starting then washed and thoroughly dried them to get all the water off.
I let the paint harden for about a week before I installed the grill on the truck

My layers
3 layers of primer
3 layers of the wrong color
3 more layers of primer to cover up that mistake
4 layers of the right color
3 layers of clear coat

I'm hoping that will hold up but it's only been on the truck about 2 weeks so I'm not sure yet.

 

My radar sensor fit in my Chinese grill the same as OE. I didn' cut or melt anything. I think that the grill with the one piece for the letters are the grills to avoid if you have a 18' truck. You need the Chinese grill with the letters you install separately then the grill will work with the radar sensor.

 

I used Krylon Dual black satin. I don’t see why it won’t last.... it is such a small part of the letter, you hardly see it as it is.

Just put it on no paint needed.

Definitely use epoxy to put on the letters the tape is rather cheap.

 

Bought the same grille and the ‘18 TSS sensor garnish on eBay at the same time. Was tipped off to a coupon and got both for ~$150.

Very satisfied with the looks for the overall cost. I hope it holds up well.

I am going to use model paint and airbrush them. I can always touch it up in place at a later date if needed. At worst I will resort to auto paint and airbrush it next time if needed.

 

Any of you guys have valid coupon codes for eBay right now? If not, where should I keep an eye for future ones? Wouldn't mind saving another $15 on one of these grilles.

 

How's the TSS working with it? Any issues?

No issues so far. Haven’t used the cruise yet since install but no lights or warnings on.

I have had my ebay pro grill installed for a little over a week now and tss has worked fine. I have tested radar cruise and it all seems to be working like normal.

I like Amazons easy return policy but the photos have be questioning how the letters are attached.

Emailed the seller asking how the letters are attached, and he replied with pictures showing the 2 piece screw-on type. It should be coming in the mail today so I'll confirm that later.

 

Damn, wish I would have just waited a day to order mine. Yours is cheaper and ships faster.
