Try contacting your local dealer, they may not be able to do much about it since its an aftermarket part, but they can probably recalibrate it.

 

i had the same issue on my truck. The Sensor and error message never went away. I ended up buying a cover from Amazon of all places for 30 bucks and it went away immediately.

Just ordered the MadHornets Grill to BC, Canada. Have to get rid of this chrome cheese grater!

 

Well, just got an email saying they won’t ship to Canada anymore because of COVID19 so I’ll be getting a refund. That sucks.

 

Did anyone ever buy these ebay ones if so what was the end result? was it too cheap or just right.

 

I bought the cheapest one off of Ebay. The casting was pretty good, but it had a lot of flashing and needed to be trimmed. Took about an hour with my mini-file set and a razor blade. Then the letters were fully painted instead of only the tops, so I masked them off and am waiting on them to get tacky for the second coat.

Overall, I think its a pretty good deal for $76 including shipping.

I'm guessing there are only a couple versions of these knock off grills and everyone is selling them. Mine has the screw on letters, so I would guess that there is only one factory in the heart of China churning these things out for about $1 each and the cheaper ones are just seconds and may need a little more finishing work.

I really didn't like the uneven lines on all the little bars by the letters, plus the letters had some casting flashing as well that I filed off before I started painting with duplicolor bumper coating in black. I had half a can laying around so I thought I would try it out. Leaves a nice matte black finish kind of like plasi-dip but not removable and much more durable.

After filing the casting edges down and sanding them all smooth it now looks great from about 1 foot away.

 

I got one from Mad Hornets and put it on this weekend. Took about 10 minutes, with the hardest part being getting the chrome OR grill out and separate from the bezel. Fits good and I'm happy with it. I got it on sale for $98 shipped to NC.

Sweet thanks man! Last night I ended up getting this one but with the garnish because i keep reading that’s needed.

 

No problem. I believe you would need the garnish with an '18. Hope it works at as well as mine did.

 

How long did it take them to ship your order? I ordered one the 30th of April and while they say it shipped Fedex tracking still says they're waiting on the package.

 

It took a little over a week to get to me from the day that I ordered it. For some reason, it took about 3 days for it to leave their facility even though they created a shipping # right away and made the status "waiting for pick-up".

 

Ok good deal. Fedex is still estimating it'll arrive tomorrow, so I guess we'll see. If it doesn't update within the next couple days I'll give them a call.

 

Just got it in. Looks good quality wise, though it’ll be a couple days before I can install it and see how it fits. Screwed the Toyota logo portion on and the screws don’t seem super tight - anyone had an issue with them coming loose? Trying to decide if I need to use some epoxy or locktight on them.

 

China makes knock off YETI, Nike, Ray Ban, on and on and on and YOU cant tell the difference. You really think the over priced $300 OEM grill is made in Alabama? Nah....its made in China or Mexico.

 

Did the TOYOTA letters come in the same box? I just got my grille and the letters and Tss garnish were not inside. Tracking number still says it has a day or two, thinking maybe they shipped separately.

 

Yeah mine came in the same box. I didn't get the one with the TSS garnish though, so perhaps that's where the variance comes in.
