So, I’ve decided to do the “obligatory” pro grille swap on my 21’. However, after some searching on here I haven’t really seen too many consistent recommendations for one specific vendor over another?

The websites I’ve looked at so far are toyotaproshop.com, tacomabeast.com, theyotagarage.com and empyreoffroad.com

Are any of the grilles offered by the aforementioned sources any better than another quality-wise?

    Thanks!

    Oh look, another mod....

Have you tried Taco Vinyl? I got my grill and other add-on's from there. They even have the mounting bracket to relocate your front camera (if you have one) and painted "Toyota" letters.

All the grilles are basically the same from every vendor. I like tacovinyl though I would recommend that

If you think it looks good, then by all means go for it, but there's no reason to feel 'obligated'
The Pro grill swap has been played out for a long time at this point.

That's exactly what I was wondering. I wasn't sure if it was basically the same grill that everyone was reselling, or they were in fact from different manufacturers. That makes my decision a bit easier, thanks!

They are all not the same, some have a plate that screws in with the TOYOTA on it already like TacoVinyl. And some have the plate already there like MC Auto, and each letter gets screwed in separately from the back. So research them all before you choose. They all have little differences like the TacoVinyl camera mount will not fit versions where the letters are screwed in individually.

Is there any particular one you would recommend? I do not have a forward-facing camera FWIW..

Nice, seems like they're a few bucks cheaper also. The quality seems pretty good?

Also, do you happen to know what the "standard" letter coloring is that comes on the Pro's from the factory? I think I read somewhere that it's silver, but I'm not positive..

How does your garnish cover look? Some of them are very grey or silver and really standout. The oem one is pretty glossy and almost looks glass-like.

It’s silver like the other guys mentioned unless you have the dealer install the factory available TRD lift. When they do that install, for some reason, it comes with a heritage grill but it has all black lettering. You can actually buy that oem grill for $139 if you want black letters. This particular one has the camera mount.

Is it me, or is that OEM one even cheaper than the other OEM grilles with the silver lettering?

It is. Another member on here shared that link with me and it blew my mind. The only reason the “standard” one is priced so high is because of its popularity. I think some vendors even require you to prove you have a Pro (by providing a VIN) before selling to you. This black one isn’t very well know about so therefore isn’t sold a lot, hence the lower price. That same vendor sells the standard one for almost $500

I don't recall off hand what dealership my grill was purchased from but somewhere on East Coast. An odd thing here was my dealer couldn't order that part for me or they weren't allowed to sell them here.
My main reason for wanting the heritage grill was because I didn't care for the dark chrome standard on the sport trim. By the time my new grill arrived I was getting used to the look though.

That truly is an insane markup. I actually kind of like the OEM silver lettering, so most likely I'll end up going with an aftermarket one anyway. Plus since I don't have the forward-facing camera the empty bracket on that black OEM grille would bother my ocd..

I totally agree and am right there with ya. I’ve been doing this same research for a few weeks. I also like the silver lettering and have narrowed my decision down to probably the one sold at Taco Garage. If you YouTube taco garage grill review, he has a pretty decent comparison video of oem vs aftermarkets including theirs
