    You can get a ballpark quote online in just a few minutes. If it sounds good to the buyer, then agree on it and if it fluctuates a few dollars north or south, have that agreed on that the buyer will pay shipping. Ballpark should be good enough for a committed buyer. When you're spending a few hundred bucks, a $5-10 increase in shipping cost is insignificant.

    That's obscene. I sent a full set of 5100s, with factory coils, and a 3 leaf AAL (disassembled) all in one big box, shipping from CA to FL was $130 or so, and I think half of that was "custom packaging." Using UPS Ground, mind you.

    Anyhoo, for sake of my point let's say it was $135. Buyer agrees to it, and when he ships them, the actual paid shipping cost is $140, or $145, or maybe it's $125.

    Is that price difference going to bother anybody? Not really, if someone wants them shipped, pay shipping. If it's cheaper or $10 more, who cares - you've already spent $450+. Paying $10 more than planned isn't going to kill someone.

    An online shipping quote should be plenty sufficient.
