Are the TRD pro headlights suppose to be a bit dimmer on the driver side for oncoming traffic ? I noticed the left headlight seems a bit dimmer. Trying to figure out if this is normal or a potential issue with wiring harness / headlights. First test at night after install. Not too noticeable but it’s for sure dimmer with a more yellowish color. Hard to capture differences with phone but here are a few photos.

Your pictures are not the clearest... does the right headlamp have that same yellow on the outside edge like the left one? Not saying this is the problem, but on the vehicles I work on at work, when the lamps have this yellowing in the beam it means LED drivers are burned out. Usually can be seen with the lights off and looking through the lens at the LED boards... now I have not seen the Tacoma LED headlamps in person so I am not sure if this is possible. It may not be the issue either... LED technology has come a long way in the last 10 years since I started seeing them, and failures are much less common on newer generation lamps.

Have you done any bulb swaps, or are these the OEM bulbs? I'm assuming these are the halogen projector style.

According to the OP's bio they have a '17. Of course I want to give the benefit of the doubt, and I guess I also haven't seen any other side-markers with that shape on anything other than OEM LEDs... :notsure:

Just swinging at variables over here before I make assumptions!

Swap the harnesses and see if it makes a difference. Other than that as someone mentioned, in US left side is aimed slightly lower to prevent blinding oncoming traffic.

I am thinking the shape of the beam would be the same on both sides, just you cannot see the passenger side trail off because of the overlap from the drivers side light edge. My guess is that they are the same. Perhaps someone has aimed them separately and can comment specifically about the spread of each light?

no, only the driver side has yellowing. Been told the drivers side is notched. Wondering if that would cause the color difference. Unfortunately only have an iPhone to take pictures.

I purchased the complete trd pro oem headlights. Swapped out old ones with the new ones + wiring harness. Need to update sig as truck is a 2022.

had oem LEDs in my tundra however didn’t notice the yellowing on the drivers side.

So if only the driver's is yellowing and you see a decrease in light output, I would be thinking a driver or 2 might have bit it. Look inside the light and look for yellowish residue on the inside lens. Compare it to the right side lamp. Is there is a noticeable discolouration, then it is a good chance the driver's let the smoke out. This would be the first I have heard of for the Tacoma LED lamps, but definitely not the first I have seen for an LED headlamp.

How confused? you may have centered it in the driveway but have you looked at the picture you took? your light output is towards the right side of the door...

The center of my bumper is pointed directly to the center of the garage door. Hence the issue of the drivers side beam not as bright.

And that is harder to see from the right of the passenger light trailing through the imitation bricks. kind of hard for a comparison. which brings me back to my point. I guess I will need to go out and take pictures of mine to help you?
