    Good advice!

I'm like that guy who contemplates waiting to buy a Manual Transmission but has to wait...but then, there's an Automatic available right now!

Do I wait for what I want or make a regretful/spontaneous purchase?

Maybe that's a bad comparison...but it's the only one that's fresh on my mind.

Even if I save for my Taco purchases, my wife has told me we could be saving that money instead of buying stuff for your truck. I don't dare bring up her expenses for obvious reasons.

I'm able to make purchases without worrying if I have the money...very blessed for that.

Since my wife has left her job, and asked for an allowance, (yeah! I gotta swallow that pill) I'm able to give her enough to budget herself and save. Her worry is, I am not saving as much as I need to in her eyes.

There goes that discussion I wasn't gonna present...but there it is. lol

Yes, mine has the walk in closet full of shoes making it hard to get my little section of clothes. She even complains that I need to go thru and throw or give away my clothes saying I never wear some of them. But I don't even dare suggesting the same.

it's for the family's safety. Brighter lights = more safe when you're driving. So if the wife cared for your safety she'd be excited for it too. hahaha.

Install was very simple, took me a couple hours but I also installed DD SS3 Fogs. Hardest part was getting to the fender clips. In short, remove grill, undo fender flare clips, drop bumper a little bit to access the bolts. Anyone charging you 4k is insane. If you were close I'd do it for a beer.

That's INSANE is correct! Trade it in and get one with OEM LED TRD Pro headlights they said...??? I'm like, WTF???

I've rationalized with my wife of 32+ years and she always seems to get her knickers in a twist when it's something for me that adds no value to her.

I love her and don't want to rock the boat too much...just a little and once or twice throughout the year...lol!!!

Is the harness required for a 2022 Tacoma with DRL's and Halogen Projectors? Just curious if it is plug-n-play with the newer model Tacoma's since this style of LED came out in 2020 I believe.

If you have the halogens you will need the harness regardless of year. Mine is a 2021 and I needed the harness. Halogens have 5 plugs that go into them, the full LED only has one. The harnesses combine the 4 of the plugs into a single, providing the necessary power to appropriate lights. One of the halogen plugs is capped off and not utilized.

Here's a pic during my install. My harness was color coded as well, so you just matched up the color and ended up with a single black "plug" that goes into the LED headlight. I just zip tied the bundle of wires behind the headlight to the wire harness to keep it tidy.

The OEM LEDs are the best. I was looking at less expensive options but agree, OEM is the BEST.

Your 2022 is basically no different than a 2020, still gonna need the harness.

Thanks for putting the part numbers and info in your post. I just made the purchase of the non pro leds from sparks with Chloe’s discount. I purchased my harness from her link which I believe is a TW member. I been wanting to upgrade for a while but did not want to spend the cash and it looks like a big job not breaking plastic clips, a recent accident with a trash can made me revisit and go thru with the purchase.

    You’re welcome.

I’m not able to pull the trigger purchase yet but the info is there when I can.

Post Before/After pics of your Taco. If you can post pics of your key install moments and anything of interest for those who are on the fence, that will be appreciated.

I just told my wife it's a necessary safety upgrade. The halogens are so bad they're dangerous. We have a lot of rainy nights here in Seattle and it's damn near impossible to see the road some nights.

Edit: Just realized I'm telling someone that lives in Montesano, WA about rainy nights.
