The used Pro I was looking at is a pass! I did more research from the Toyota Owners site, and checked out the service/maint history. Quite a few things reported by previous owner. Clunks, rattles, seatbelt warning light not going off, etc. I guess that's the reason he turned it in only after a yr into the lease. Man, that's why I hate buying used. Going to search for a new one!

 

I called to inquire for that truck when it was in transit weeks ago What the website doesn't tell you is the price doesn't include the $1599.99 Dealer Installed Options (window tint & interior/exterior protectant, this isn't even ceramic coating) that they would NOT negotiate out. In addition, that $1,000 discount is ($500 military discount and/or $500 recent college graduate discount). Since neither applied to me I was looking at $54,507 before DMV/registration, sales tax and $699.99 dealer fee.

That said I passed, glad someone else was able to secure it as Manual are really hard to find.

I will say it was one of very few manual Solar Octanes and the dealer knew it.

 

No the site shows/ed all the options. You could pull up the sticker, and see it had tons of extra shit. The $1000 discount BS yea is misleading for most. The dealer doc fee's are high as well. I prefer a truck with minimal port installed items. Pretty hard to find these days unless you put money down on a upcoming allocation to get what you want.

 

Yea I saw the sticker for it too. For whatever reason accessories are more expensive for Southeast Toyota than any other region. The sticker will only show the factory and port (Southeast Toyota) options but not dealer. I can't stand it when they charge you an arm and a leg for window tint. All of Fred Anderson dealers do this.

I did notice on lower trim Tacoma you can negotiate some things out.

Good luck with the search though. Best thing to do is put your name on a list to as many dealers as you can. (Assumings deposit is refundable OR deposit is only required when an allocation is confirmed)

 

Yea man thanks! Lucky I don't normally deal with the southeast crap. First time I have inquired a dealer from down there. This is not my first rodeo with buying these things. This will be #3 for me with dealing with buying a Pro. I have never been on a list. I have just searched online and been lucky enough to find what I have been looking for.

I have seen dealers charging anywhere from 3k to 7500 over MSRP however if you just shop around there are plenty not adding one penny.

 

I was able to purchase mine this week at MSRP

I got mine at msrp as well. Every state seems to have at least one dealer that does not markup vehicles. That's where most of us find them I would guess.

Mcdonald toyota in Greely Co does not. Nor does mountain state I believe. So it's about knowing your local market and who's a dick and who's not more than anything
