So I had a slight mishap with a bus sign recently in my 17 TRD Pro and had to have a few repairs, $6,200 worth. The body shop (a very reputable one) had a lot of trouble getting the correct replacement parts for this truck. When I picked it up after hours it appears that they have installed the wrong grill. After 20days we are still waiting on the hood decal so I have to make a return visit. Has anyone else had problems getting the correct items from the factory?

I was absolutely amazed by the amount of damage in such a slight hit to the sign that is on the ground in the attached picture. I love the truck but hate to say it that I don’t think my previous F150 would had a fraction of the damage.

You sure about that shop? Your vin should point to the correct factory parts. That grill is an sr, so I’d be asking where they bought parts.

They should not have any issues finding a Pro Grille

They probably didn't get parts from Toyota, and maybe they didn't know you had a different model to get parts for that specific model.

Sounds like you just have an ignorant body shop on your hands that was looking to pocket extra money for a pro grill vs. an SR one

Agreed. I just picked up my truck from the dealer body shop this morning. I have a Sport with Pro grille and fog lights. They replaced the Pro parts like for like.

I know the shop and they have done work on our 2011 Expedition. Very reputable, had issues previously with Toyota when they did not install the switch for the sliding rear window. Took three weeks to get that straightened out.

You keep saying they are reputable, then post a pic of a pro with an SR grille that they ordered. I'm not sure what to think... /s

Does an employee of the shop drive an SR with a pretty fresh pro grille?

Had stopped by earlier in the week, all parts in bed were in Toyota boxes. Only thing I did not see in box was new hood. Just frustrating.

Probably just got mixed up, the older trucks either had chrome or non chrome grills. Pros are rare models and if your not into tacomas probably wouldn't know they exist or that they had a different grill.
