    G'day all

I've always done the majority of maintenance required to maintain my vehicles and to my good fortune it has always worked out to my advantage. That includes rebuilding engines when the time and area were available, rebuilding alternators, starters, fuel pumps, carbs etc. Also included in my maintenance list are the shocks absorbers, even before coil-overs. And I'm sure for some that's unheard of. :)

Shocks, to me, have always been remove and replace with new ones at approx.50,000 miles Since I decided to go for a 2018 PRO I'm learning, via TW, high end premium priced shocks are rebuildable at about 1/3 the price of new, a new concept to an old dog.
The rebuildables are not necessarily DIY, but remove from vehicle, ship to repair center, wait for return, and reinstall. Initially, a pretty straight forward process.

But after some thought, I end up wondering what the current Pro drives do when a shock rebuild is required but they need to continue using their Pro; have a second set already purchased and just install, use a less expensive temp set til the originals are rebuilt and returned, just don't drive it til the rebuilds are received and reinstalled, or am I missing the obvious?

    Thanks

I don’t think anyone has enough miles on a pro to warrant a rebuild yet. Remember that King need to be rebuilt between 10 and 20k depending on use, and fox usually 2 to 3 times that. But a standard rebuild can usually be done locally, and it’s only the gas charge that can’t easily be done at home, the rest is simply. it’s only if you want to re-valve you’ll need to send away.

You could always get a cheap set of take offs from a sport or offroad from someone on here that's upgraded. They'll swap right in, but you'll just ride a hair lower.
