There's a ton of hate on for the TRD Pro. It's priced high and A LOT of the "true" offroad crowd feels offended when people compare it to there customized TRD OF based rigs. Personally I think it's just envy over guys who can afford the truck.

Paying a 5K primium on the sticker is just insane on ANY VEHICLE. Plenty of guys on here have bought a TRD Pro for sticker after short searches of there local Toyota dealerships.

The truth is, if you don't mind spending a premium, the TRD Pro offers you a very capable truck for a weekend warrior type of person with full warranty. Yes, it's not as well tuned or decked out as what you yourself could do for the 6-7K average price difference but it has full warranty on every nut, bolt, shock, and plate. If you aren't into wrenching and aren't going for the full overland/offroad build I think it's as good a buy as any other Tacoma. I have nothing against it.

Same issue with the Ford Raptor when it came out. All Ford guys on the Ford forums were saying the same thing.

You can't finance your parts at 2.9% or lower though. I'm not saying this is the ultimate OR truck, because it's clearly not. I can see why it sells though. Some people just want a taste of logging roads and overland terrain without wrenching or cutting there brand new full warranty truck to glory. That's why the Pro should and does exist. How many people with suspension lifts and armor actually tackle terrain that will scratch, dent, and break there shit? Not as many as you probably think. It's not like they released the Pro and took the OR model off the market. Buy what you want.

Like OZ said, it's disturbing how upset some guys get on here at the guys who have bought Pro's.

LOL just pulling your leg man. I hear Ford requested a patent for the name "EcoBeast" a few days ago. Rumor is Ford plans to have it in the Raptor as either upgraded twin turbo V6 or twin turbo V8 using the coyote motor.

I can give some credibility to the second option there. One of my customers owns a few Ford dealerships. A 5.0L twin turbo for the F250/F350/Raptor has been tossed around at meetings for a long time, somethings either on the way or in the late stages of development.

Yes. There's the odd place selling them for right around $500. Most dealerships are towing the company line though and need a serial number and wrecked TRD grill presented to them before they will order one for you.

I bet the dealer uses that 5K to haggle out a realistic 2-3K. There's no way someone is stupid enough with the internet to pay that much markup. Lots of guys on here got a TRD Pro for sticker and, at worst, paid maybe 1K over sticker after some wheeling and dealing.

I have yet to see someone get a real discount on the price though.

When I was looking to get my 2015 I could have bought a TRD Pro Inferno Red for 37,500 and said no way, and the sticker was 39,796. But someone is going to take a huge loss when they buy it. Sad to see someone getting porked.

Yup, either way I'd never pay over sticker for any vehicle.

Buy the base TRD and Mod it...essentially change the grill and who will notice...lets face it, who is spending 46K and taking it hard core off road...

Buy the TRD Mod it and still have money for any breaks along the way

I should have clarified that sticker would a good price with a supercharger. No way should anyone pay asking price for that truck.
