I think I might have read your reasons but have forgotten. Why did you trade your Taco for a Ram?

What's it matter if I've built one? I've owned one and looked prices of everything.
Prices are prices. You can't argue that and the only reason your argument has a point is because you value your time as nothing.

I think the value of time is a straw man argument here. People take their vehicles in to have work done all the time under warranty for as long as it takes to put a suspension, wheels tires, and an alignment done.

Someone is paying labor to have all the work done. It isn't free.

Depends where you buy your stuff they can work it into the package and make it a decent deal. Or DIY.

I think its market is for the people that want a more capable offroad truck without having to mod it themselves. Obviously $$ isnt a concern with this group of buyers. This and a Toyota warranty on upgraded items.

Money shouldn't be a concern if you're paying 50k for a midsized truck with an undersized v6 but there are smarter ways to spend it.

Shit I had a hard time stomaching $32k on my Sr5, these trucks are getting ridiculous, and if the reliability goes out the door, don't be surprised when people start jumping ship to full size alternatives with more bang for the buck.

I've got no interest in modding my truck on my own and dealing with the creaks and squeaks, check engine lights and grease monkeys crawling all over my interior and joy riding my truck while they do a "road test". Yeah, no thanks. This is the perfect truck for me, comes from Toyota lightly modded and is the flagship of the line. Can't wait to pick mine up.

A lot of it isn't shit talking at all, was a healthy discussion about whether you can build a better/similar truck for less money, and answer is yes, but some refuse to believe that or get into arguments. Most like the PRO, its a cool truck, its designed for a certain buyer in mind, no issues there, but you can definitely build your own for less, anyone that argues that is silly.

Don't get me wrong, if I was buying another Tacoma today, it'd be hard not to just buy a SR5 and customize how I want. My point was the TRD Pro is a good value compared to the prices of the SR5 and TRD Off-road for people who wants the perks but don't want to do the work.
