I have a 6” stage 2 procomp lift. I was able to put a skid plate on but from a 2nd gen tacoma. I was able also to use stock skid plate underneath the white skid plate but had to trim a lil. Hope it helps

I have one question: why? Call me crazy, but I just never understood the reason to do that to a vehicle. I suppose my school of thought isn't universal, but I'm of the mindset that if you're going to chop the frame and reduce drivability, it should be Dakar and Baja ready. Is it just a look thing? I don't mean to sound crass, I just know everyone's rationale is different and am curious.

Yea I agree. I bought it from
Dealership lifted. It did not come w any skid plate or skid plate bar. So far I like it and I have the funds to do it, I might buy another and do it right without any chopping. ‍♂️

You should tell that to the lawyer here on TW that is currently fighting to get his DRL covered under warranty, but is being denied because he has aftermarket lights. People spout off about the MM act like it's some magic get out of jail free card the dealerships know nothing about.

You are right. I agree. I've never had a warranty claim denied for my vehicles being modified. I don't have experience in that area. So, you guys don't modify your warrantied vehicles. I (and I am assuming the OP) will continue to modify our vehicles and cross that bridge when we get there. If they deny my claim do to a modification I personally would look for a lawyer who specializes in that area. A quick Google shows that there are many. We will see, but until then, wheel on and try your best to be respectful of other people's choices and thoughts. Good luck and happy wheeling.

OP didn't modify his vehicle. He bought it that way and thinks Toyota is going to warranty the lift....

Well, the law is clear. People have absolutely won lawsuits because of the MM act. People have most certainly lost them or not been able to continue with them because of #life.

Another thought. People have litterally gotten away with murder. The law is clear. Murder is illegal.

Anyway, I guess what I should have said is the OP and myself (and thousands of others) will continue to modify or purchase pre-modified vehicles and hope for the best. I've had experience's where dealerships try to not honor warranty claims for all sorts of reasons (f250 transmission) and that was an OEM completely stock truck! That doesn't mean I should stop driving new vehicles.

People die in car accidents. That happens all the time. Should we stop driving too?

All that I am saying is that the MM Act is clear. Yes, it could be a fight, but it is clear.

On another note, this post has gotten way off topic! Pretty interesting though, with good banter.

A good dealer will, I know of one that stands by the 6" lifts. Covering axle shafts, shocks as they wear.

No one said not to modify your vehicles, you're missing the point. OP think TOYOTA CORP, is going to warranty the modifications on the vehicle.... I have modified my truck, I'm not under any impression Toyota will warranty it.

Are we missing the point? Or, are we getting into semantics? It doesn't matter if it is "Toyota CORP" or a Toyota dealership (same thing?) That honors his warranty. I'm confused at what you all are now trying to even prove?

@Bishop84 Isn't that terrible though? It was the same on the F250 I spoke about earlier. For the warranty to be fulfilled on the transmission we had to drive to another Ford dealership in a big city. They took care of it. The dealership in our town? They wouldn't do anything for us. They said it was because of miss use, over towing, etc. Whatever they could do to get out of it. Warranty work has always been a pain regardless of the situation in my experience.

The dealer and Toyota are not the same entity, at all.
