TRD Pro style emblems in off road and sport versions

That’s why I was checking too. I got the sport badges.

Yes, I got my notice today. Ordered last week.

 

So what do those of us who have the crappy foam do? I just got mine and can confirm that my Sport emblem has foam instead of the clear adhesive as well... Kind of disappointing but I guess given the price I really shouldn't complain.

 

You can switch out the foam for 3m's extreme mounting double sided adhesive.
Rated up to 30lbs, even on the hottest days it will not fall. It will most likely melt before that happens.

 

So did you peel off the foam and just cut the 3M stuff to cover the entire back of the emblem?

 

Nope, mine fell off in the parking.

After it fell, I stripped the old adhesive foam, sanded the underside of the emblem with #300 grit, then stuck 3m extreme mounting tape.



Also, yes full coverage, just so nothing (moisture, dust, etc) gets in or is kept to a minimum.

Do you do custom badges?

 

Most likely a no.
From what I have seen, TRD Pro and Bro in a variety of color configs, Sport and Off Road in standard color sets.

Customs would have to be 3D printed.

 

@FreshMexicanTaco - I went in to order a pair of the Sport and the site says out of stock. Am I out of luck or do you have more?

Also: if i wanted to paint them black would you recommend plasti or paint?

Personally, I would plasti them.
Will need to sand and prep the surface if you plan on painting them.
You can pop the letters out from the back, need to use a solder or similar to undo the weld points.

 

Wow that foam looks like a mess! How bad was it getting off the truck?

 

Wasn't too bad actually.
Since it isn't heavy duty stuff, most of it peeled off on the first pull.
Use goo gone afterwards, to get the remaining off.

Not directly the emblem/adhesives fault, the paint underneath is damaged.
When it fell off the first time, the guy at the shop thought it would be a good idea to superglue it to the foam... Shit bleed through, and bonded to the paint.

Got a paid for the damages, but fixing it would require the whole panel to be repainted.
Just rather hide it with a badge.

How long did it take for them to get it shipped to you? I ordered late May and havent received them yet

 

I ordered mine and received them like 3 days after. They looked great.



I applied them to the dimensions specified earlier here. I didn't have time to take off the Tacoma side emblems. So for anyone who wondered what it looked like with both the TRD and normal Tacoma Emblems, here you go. Haha I wonder if they would look good if they were blacked out...

I had the TACOMA blacked out, it looks better than the chrome.
But there was still too much going on the side, so took them off.

 

Tracking number says they will be here tomorrow.
