Hi all, I've been looking around and I can't seem to find a definitive answer. Recently bought a 2018 taco, but deployed before I could do any real modifications to it and I'm just going to wait until I get home to dig in. I don't want to ditch the suspension if I can help it because that's why I opted for the pro anyway.

I plan on upgrading the truck as necessity deems, but I know I want to add a CBI T3 front bumper(steel), a CBI overland bed rack(steel), and a Smittybilt Overlander Tent initially. The truck will be a DD and used often off-road, not rockcrawling or anything truly insane though. It's just the wife and I, two Danes, and a German Shepherd, so my question is; do I need to upgrade the stock PRO suspension for these mods or will it be good until I add more weight down the road? Thank you!

I believe the Pro comes with a higher coil rate so it should handle the front bumper ok. The rear leafs can handle the bed rack and tent but you may want to look into some rear suspension options down the road.

Pro suspension is tuned for stock parts. T3 bumper is ~200lbs. That’s a lot of weight. You will need to address this if you go that way. But I suggest you forego the front bumper if you’re not rock crawling. Look at the lighter Warn semi-hidden bumper (SSO has the same thing), if needed.

FYI, I would highly recommend getting a rear bumper before a front. Rear drags everywhere.

Appreciate the replies! The only completely permanent setup would be the bumper; the rack and especially tent would be depending on what I'm doing each trip.

@phsycle, you think I would be better off in just biting the bullet for an aluminum one then to conserve that weight? I'm not concerned with dragging where I live as opposed to animal stikes, thicker brush, and the occasional rock thrown up from the trail, but I'm not sold on how aluminum would hold up, especially against critters. If the rear gets messed up over time or hangs because of the departure angle, I'll definitely replace it.
