I was going to use military program, but dealership shared Toyota secret. If you finace vehicle
Through Toyota and opt for military program, you will pay a higher APR. Long term you will pay more.

    Alright Gents,

I DON"T have an option to have the shocks replaced but I can deny the truck and pass a great opportunity for a TRD Pro at MSRP and Tax free. MAS doesn't have a stock of trucks overseas, and another TRD Pro will not come available for months. That being said both MAS and Ziebart have offered to remove the undercoat from all the components that weren't supposed to be covered. I spoke with Fox and they said as long as the coating isn't on the shaft there wont be any issues, I have already checked and the shafts are clean. Even if the seals did fail later they would still be covered under the Toyota warranty, so I'm not to concerned about the performance. I did look into purchasing a TRD Off-road once I return to the states but I would be paying the same price as this TRD Pro, I think for resale purposes the Pro is a better option. Also, I plan on upgrading the suspension to Kings within the next couple of years anyways.

Just curious how much are people paying for the Tacoma TRD Pro? I know what MSRP is and I've seen them listed for as much as $56K at the dealerships.

If your upgrading suspension down the road, maybe go with the trd OR? The undercoating is probably not an issue but that still is a bitch to see something unexpected on a car you just payed over 40k for.

I don't know what kind of deal you are getting but for some of yhe prices I'm seeing people pay for a pro you could put that price difference into a TRD off-road and will result in a superior off-road truck. I personally would rather spend that money on larger tires and drive train upgrades or a long travel setup.

Nah I'd pass on this deal man. There is no significant "resale" benefit in buying a brand new Pro over a TRD OR. You're going to take a huge hit in initial depreciation. Sounds like they're trying to offload the Turd on a guy who is paying the lower price.

Some folks may have paid 50K for a PRO but they are in the minority. Most are paying MSRP despite the stupid mark ups you may have seen.

Yeah, we borrowed a PRO here for research and the dealer had a "market adjustment" price at 61k.:rofl:
The sticker MSRP was 45,xxx. I didn't believe it till our shipping guy told me there was a super white pro here for over 60k...

Why get a Pro then? You can get a TRD OR and put kings on it day 1 and be well under the cost of a pro and have a nicer truck. The Fox suspension is the only thing worthwhile on the Pro.

How did you apply the fluid film? Just spray it over everything metal in the wheel wells? How long does it last?

Buy a couple cans spray it on. Careful of the overspray or windy day it makes a mess on anything you want to keep shiny or clear... (Windows mirrors etc) very greasy and it stinks IMO. Lanolin...

Did you spray the whole undercarriage? Does it stick to plastic also?

Whatever this TRD Pro had sprayed on is not the same as fluid film. Fluid film is not black. It's got a yellow or caramel color to it.

Just sprayed what i could reach wheel wells Leafs and suspension. Didn't crawl under truck or apply on a lift. Just walked around it and sprayed. Nothing complicated. It just adds a layer of film (lanolin)

Here in the "rust belt" I have used FF for a few years. Hit me old Gen 2 twice a yr with four cans, and did my Pro a few weeks after I bought it. I use a creeper to spray just about everything frame wise or anything that can corrode. It does eventually wear off mainly the area's the get hit from the road spray by the tires. Stuff works good. Highly recommend especially in areas that have snow/salty roads.

wow, you need to research the differance the between the both.. if thats the only differance between the 2 models, why is everyone running out buying the grill, the headlights, tailights, badge, leather interior, maybe a paint job too,, etc,etc.. trying to look like a trd pro..

You have a Pro so you're defensive. We get it. But your spelling invalidates everything you've just said. All of that is cosmetic.
