Are there things I like about the 3rd gen? Absolutely! However I just love my 2nd gen.

We can give you feedback all day long but you need to buy what you're gonna be happy with. I think the 3rd gen problems get blown out of proportion on here. But if you don't think you'll be happy with a 3rd gen don't buy it.
Also don't be afraid to wait and search around. I searched for months until I found the truck I wanted.

That is probably the most sound advice right here. I think at this point, guys like us who have the newer second gen body style will likely keep ours and have personal reasons for them. If the third gen appeals to you at all look wise that you could fall in love with, then man you have to test it out and see if that is for you. Jarv said it pretty well, the third gens get torn up rep wise thanks to being an online enthusiast forum. I would be curious to see what you might find if you were willing to spend enough time driving three different third gens. I have a few buddies who you couldn't rip them away from their third gens like I am with my second gen. I think if the appeal from the get go intrigues you, don't sell yourself short just because of us. There will always be haters in all groups, just easy for me cause aesthetically I like the second gen the most.

I want that white 2013 Baja for 27k but if he wants to hold out, I'll just keep shopping. And who knows if I'll end up with a Baja, 2nd gen Pro or 3rd gen Offroad. I appreciate all the advice and good words, it's been really helpful.

Last statement for the win, the looks "and price" vs the 2017 Pro won me over. The extra coin I saved will allow for the SC and upgrades here and there I plan on doing which I wouldn't have been able to as quickly w/the new truck. I plan on keeping this one till I've got grandkids running around and then I may pass it down, or not.:D

Having said that I'm coming from a 1993 2wd yota I've had for nearly a decade so its win win all around. I laugh sometimes at all the vibrations threads since my 2wd will knock a tooth filling loose if your not careful.

Basically same thing, the Baja was available from 12-14, pro from 15-16 (2nd gen). There are minor differences that have been talked about.....a few pages back

Sums it up right there. All Baja is is a bilstein suspension system with some beadlock rims, decent stereo, trd exhaust tip, and graphics.

Pro has bhlm done, black emblems, similar stereo, and no graphics. I'm not sure if the pros have bilstein suspension, but hell many upgrade beyond that very easily. Also the pros can be in inferno!!!

and the grill people go nuts for. And color matched bumpers. Full TRD catback - is that on the Baja? Oh yeah, and hood scoop. The skewp of all skewps.

Yes it comes with the full trd exhaust, nicer suspension, and wheels. It's basically an off-road with these add ons.

I'd imagine it probably would work but you'd really need to ask someone who is more informed on 4runners.
