Cab mount chop? I know most people say you need a 4.5 backspacing

I went LT so I cut for 35s due to more travel and stuff. When I threw on 285s i couldn't go full lock without rubbing.

4.6" backspace. It's a 16x7.5 +10. Half to three quarter inch spacers would have you in a nice place for BS. I just got new wheels instead.

Thanks! I was hoping they would work better since they came on the truck and I like them. What backspacing did you have when you ran 33s? Dont really want to run spacers.

    Btw love your build!

I ran the Pro wheels without any modifications, but I was running 255/85/16s.

Oh thanks I like the tall skinny look just seems like there aren't as many options. Do you think there would be significant rubbing with 285s?

I'm really not sure, as I went from the stock wheels with 255s to the Konigs I have now and 315s. I cut the cab mount and trimmed my sheetmetal and flares to fit the 315s, but I could probably fit 36's with as much as I trimmed.

Would be curious to see how much you trimmed on yours Dave. I have mine pretty well trimmed, but don't know if I would ever go to 35s. Would be interesting to see if my mounts are similar to what you got going on.

It's hard to get a picture of, but I cut a lot off. I really need to replate it.

Thanks Dave! Hopefully someone else who ran 285s can chime in. I'd love to go to 315s but not anywhere in the near future.

I currently have 285s with the TRD beadlocks. Don't know if you plan to run those, but I had to cut mine a little at full lock.

Thanks Coot, which part did you have to cut? I'd like to keep the TRD beadlocks because I like the look and then thats just something else I don't have to replace. Lift and bigger tires got jumped to the front of the list after I went out yesterday and it was a little muddy. The Yokohama Geolander Ats that came on the truck which were brand new did pitiful in the mud and became slicks that wouldn't clear. I ended up sliding down the hill sideways since I had absolutely no traction.

Well Im LT so I decided to cut the hell out of mine. If you search through places like BAMF, relentless, etc they tend to have prefabbed CMC plates. For yours to clear, it doesn't take much outside of maybe a half inch on the end (please correct me if Im off here). I also have about 2.25 inches of ride height over a stock TRD off-road/non PRO Baja if that helps.

I wanna say there are a few guys that have put 285's on these wheels and just had to remove the mudflaps and do some minor trimming to the inner wheel well plastic.
    Edit.... @Mph6779

I might just go the 885 and 5100 route first which would give me 2.5 -2.75 so it sounds like I should be okay then. I already don't have any mudflaps and luckily Erik at Relentless is only 35 minutes from me so I'd have him to the CMC.

Thanks man, hopefully one of them will chime in. Keeping the current TRD Beadlocks would save a lot of money.

Yeah man! Just trying to get the lift figured out, hopefully I'll have it all done come summer time. Still not positive on the lift, really want to go full King but not sure how much of it I would really use/need.

What I have found is that the lift doesn't really matter that much for the 285s above 2 inches. When you cycle your suspension, if you rub with 285s then you will rub then regardless of height. ANY lift outside of an inch will likely suffice. Pumped you are getting ready to pull the trigger!

If you can get the Cmc done I'd do it too.... it's just much added clearance you can definitely use because it will be tight. If trimming of plastic is needed it will be very minimal at most.
