I've really thought about doing this to mine, but then I also think with the $6-7k I'd spend on doing it, I could just buy another car. I keep waffling back and forth about it.

I spent a little more with everything involved.....but I look at it like this, I'd love to have a sports car....but I need a bed. So, I made my truck a fast ass sports truck.

Oh I'd keep my truck, it's paid for. Just have to convince the wife another car would be okay.

So a few weeks ago I picked up a almost brand new 2015 Pro access cab. I was currently looking at a brand new 17 OR DC but then a deal came up I could not resist. The story is my parents friend passed away and he had a garage kept 15' pro with 7,5xx miles on it....its literally mint . His wife waned 30k for it. I told her I was interested in a tacoma but i was looking for a double cab, would you take 26k....she said yes . My plan with the off road was to lift it with the Fox Ultimate with 32s or'33s. The question is should I lift it still, I know i shouldn't. I am going to order a ARE topper in a week or so, with a prinsu rack (some weight in the back). The truck is mostly going to be used for long trips into the mountains, especially during the winter. Im not afraid to spend some money on a lift. But is it stupid to?:annoyed:

Keep that lift and put on the Toytec spring seat, it will raise it an inch in the front up to 2.75". For the rear put on an ICON Progressive AAL. That'll raise it 1.5"......YOULL LOVE IT!!! That lift is really nice. If you go another route....I'll buy your rear shocks.

Congrats on the great purchase, and welcome to TW! :fistbump:

I second what Juan says!

And I'll add, 33's or 35's (tires) are ideal but depending on what kind of off-roading you plan to do, it will most likely rub...so you'll probably need to :sawzall: (trim) some plastic and even consider a cab mount chop (CMC) :welder: and do the pinch weld mod :smash: (hammer time).

You could also add a top spacer like @Dave41079 did on his build. That thing rides like a champ from the videos and photos on his build thread, if you want to avoid or minimize cutting or smashing.

With the savings from the amazing deal you got, you could even swap out the entire suspension system and go for ADS or Kings and sell the existing Pro suspension kit to recoup the cost of the premium aftermarket suspension system.

No matter what you decide; it's your truck, your build...do what makes you happy and what suits your needs/wants. :hattip:

Very well put....@p_chinnici, I forgot to add about the trimming of plastic. For 285's....which will fit your rims. You most likely will have to trim a very very small amount of plastic and remove the mudflaps. It is a very minor amount of cutting you'll need to do so don't let it bother you. It will most likely rub on the front lower part of your wheel wells and any simple cutting tool will do the job on that thin plastic.

Yeah I was suspect also so I had the vin ran, also has all the correct suspension on it also and all the factory add ons so I'm guessing someone stripped off all that side bed goofiness, saved me the headache from doing it

Thought that looked like DePaula. I just bought my 12 from Denoyeer two months ago. Odd that both Chevy dealers in Albany ended up with somewhat rare Toyotas.

Mine either. During negotiations they came out with a KBB sheet for a TRD OR to show how far under blue book they were.

If you are mainly going to use it on the street I would keep it pretty stock. I have a topper on mine and did Firestone Air Bags with the Daystar Cups and it has worked out just fine. Did amazing in the desert when we went to the grand canyon even loaded up with gear. Upped the tires 1 size to 265 / 75's. A great all round overlanding truck for semi rough stuff. Not a rock crawler, but I have another toy for that stuff.
