Just ordered a TRD Pro suspension kit for my 2014 OR. I've been here long enough I know how to use the search function but have read some contradictory comments and would like to try and clear some things up for myself.

I'm thinking of putting in the ToyTec 1/2" top plate space instead of the ToyTec spring spacer as I've read the spring spacer is essentially pre loading the springs and I'd like to not compromise the ride in any way. Are the studs long enough to accept this? I've read the studs are only long enough for the 1/4 spacer. Will I have a good chance of getting my alignment in spec with that much lift or will I need after market UCA's?

I'm thinking of going with a 1.5" progressive AAL with overload left in which will net a 2" rear lift. Some say you can pull this off, some say the shocks aren't meant for this length and can only handle a one inch lift. How's the ride with the overload left in?

Anyone with pics of this setup or similar would be greatly appreciated!

If you got the pro kit and not the Baja kit, adding the coil seat spacer is probably a better option. It’s designed to work with that specific shock and it won’t preload it too much. Basically, it’d be like running the 650 pound springs vs the 600. you might need a UCA adding an extra inch of lift, but my guess is a good alignment shop will be able to get you close enough. If you experience any bump steer after the alignment, go ahead and get them. Just my .02

I did the top plate 1/4”....it works. Rear shocks should be fine with the overload.

Thanks. Think there is enough space in the studs for a 1/2"?

On the Pro kit did anyone switch out the front bump stops to the shorter?

You have to replace the studs, which is really easy. I did have to add UCAs, but that could have been the tech doing the alignment as much as the parts.

I also have Dakars with the extra leaf and an overload removed in the rear with my Pro shocks and they're fine. I could use more down travel, but no complaints. I ran the progressive AAL's for a while too, but needed more load capacity.

Love your build man. What studs did you end up using?

Thanks. Toytec has extended studs just for that application, but I don't remember if they're included with the 1/2" top plate or not.

Looking at the specs for 5160's, I think it should be fine, but can anyone confirm the stock bump stops and brake lines are fine with Dakar/OME leafs? Preferably from someone who's truck has seen a bunch of articulation.

Not just stock length, the actual factory Baja or Pro shock.
