    Hey Guys, I am new to Tacoma World! After reading 200+ pages of this thread it inspired me to join the forum. I am an owner of 2012 Barcelona Red TX Baja dcsb. The truck is sitting with 103,000 miles and the time has come to start putting my list together for upgrades. To me, while the front is "stiff" I do like the ride. I really need some help deciding on how to tackle the rear of the truck. I can't decide if I should do the Icon progressive AAL or get a Dakar Leaf pack and just replace the stock leafs. I am also going to replace the rear shocks as well. I tow a pretty good amount, but nothing too heavy. OME Dakar and the Nitrocharger shocks to keep it unified? Or should I go with the Dakars and different rear shock? I would appreciate any input. I also am starting to feel a pretty noticeable vibration in my seats that seems to be coming from behind me. Had my tires balanced and it made it slightly better but it is still there. Any ideas? Could it be related to my worn our leafs and shocks? Could it be E rated tires that are worn? Thanks for the help. Also here are some pictures of my truck!!

    Very nice truck. If you tow. I’d go with either the Dakar’s or the Icon RXT’s. Those were recently talked about in this thread. It’s a full pack as well and I think would suit your needs as well as the Dakar’s.
    Since your going up in the rear at least an inch and a half or higher I’d do extended brake lines to be safe.
    For shocks there are a few options bilstien 8160’s are new and real nice.
    Your tires could be the culprit but not sure....

    JuanitoBunito, thinking about going with the Dakars, I have used OME products in the past on both 4runners and Land Cruisers and every time I have loved the products. Thanks for the heads up regarding the brake lines as well.

    I get it, I’ve usdd Dakar’s on my last tacoma. One thing that tuned me off was they came needing a set of bushings....not the end of the world but that’s how they sell them. The RXT’s are made by ICON are ready to go, my progressive aal from them has been money, no problems at all!! That along with when I did have those previously mentioned Dakar’s they sqeeked at times. So I figured next time I buy a full pack I’m gonna switch things up and give the RXT’s a try....

    as far as the brake lines, if i go with the dakars or icons, do i absolutely need the extended lines? I really never wheel the truck and full articulation basically never occurs.

    @baja12nj welcome, beautiful truck!

    I see you chose an outboard motor for some extra pep. I went with the supercharger but hey, whatever works man.

    Yeah that "big foot mercury 9.9HP" was an essential mod....not sure why more people don't run outboard motors on their tailgates! lol

    Hey nice truck! Same exact truck as me when I brought it ~1.5 years ago. Minus the roof rack.

    What size tires are you running in those pictures? Stock Baja suspension in those pics as well?

    265/75R16 BFG KO2s E range. And yes still on stock suspension for now.

    Might try getting your tires 'road-force' balanced rather than just a regular balancing. But at the end of the day E range tires are big and heavy, sometimes they can be hard to balance. Every now and then I get some vibes around 50 mph on certain roads. Either deal with it or back off the speed a little :rolleyes:

    Welcome! Nice truck!

    As far as the vibration is concerned they can be a bitch to track down. Be methodical and don't assume. I have chased down a vibration or noise before that I was certain was coming from one side, until it was coming from the other. It could be unbalanced tires, uneven tread wear, bad wheel(s), wheel bearings, center carrier bearing, etc., etc. Report back what you try and what you get for results. There is a lot of been there done that experience here on TW. May as well put it to good use.

    Did I say welcome?

    My next move is 265/75/16 tires. Haven’t decided which ones yest but I’m do for tires. I’ve noticed my KO2s have gotten noticeably noisy as they are near the end of their life. After I get the new tires mounted I will reassess and post back here! Thanks!
