Say what!!! I didn't know there was a problem. Does that include the rear shocks of the TRD Pros as well???

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Shouldn't be the same problem on the pro. My Baja parts were rusting bad on the lines from day one. In 20k miles they were looking years old. My new Pro has rubber over the lines and shows no rust yet at almost 3k miles.

Also, personally I suspect Toyota may replace the Baja rears with the pro as they have a different part number.

Yeah I remember we briefly talked about the differences. I also assumed those non rubber covered lines has something to do with it. I'm about to pull the trigger on a supercharger and will try and see if the dealer will do me a solid and swap out my shocks....never hurts to ask. They definitely have some surface rust but aren't that bad.....yet.
Is there a recall,TSB or any service number that is attached to this problem???

That sucks. Wasn't aware of the issue. You under warranty? What's your plan?

Yea Im still under warranty. So Im just waiting. Truck has been parked for the past 2 weeks while I waited to have an appt at Toyota, just been driving my father's Prius lol.
What has me concerned, is the PN that the service desk ordered is for a $58 shock, which Im pretty sure is not the Bilstein's. So we will wait and see. The service manager knew what part I needed and was explaining to me that they weren't monotube shocks etc etc so he knew what he was talking about.

Wonder if I can get the other to fail before the 36k mile warranty

Contact Bilstein, see if they'll warranty the repair and re-build it?

make sure they order the correct ones. No way that shock is $58. Try $200. I had one that leaked and replaced under warranty. The idiots ordered the wrong shock and did not bother to check it until they had the old one off. I was not happy after sitting there for 2 hours. Then I had to go back for another 2 hours. Service manager called me after I dinged them on the survey. Last thing he said was "I hope we can win your business back".

That's some BS. They should have given you a loaner. Yeah I agree - that's not a $58 shock. Maybe try to see if they'll replace it with the Pro Shock? Good luck, let us know how it works out.

On a side note - my 2014 Baja 12 Volt accessory plugs both went dead on Monday. Checked the 7.5V fuse and it was good. Could be the relay. Taking it in for warranty work.

I have had my Baja for a year now (just over 12K miles) with no rust on any of the stock rear suspension parts, shocks included. The only rust I have back there is on the bolts/nuts of the AAL I threw on. Is this rust issue a common problem? I will also echo JuanitoBunito's question; is there any info about a TSB or recall? Thanks.

Question for the Pro/ baja owners:
Does Toyota adjust for any possible driveline vibration when they install the lift up front? (any shims and such under the leafsprings for example?)
    Just curious.

Of course there's no leaf springs up front. The shims go in the rear. If you make adjustments up front angles can change in rear too.
    Thanks.

Does anyone have the rear PN for the Baja rear shocks?

any updates? This sounds disappointing to me, I bought the TX Baja so I can have a type of offroad suspension under warranty. Kind of defeats the purpose if they don't have the parts to replace when they break.

Also, any pics of how bad the rust is?

I lived up North in Jersey with mine for a year, and now a year down south in NC. Mine has some rust, I think just from the one winter up north. Hopefully I don't accumulate any more down here that will hurt the suspension.
