How was the install? Any extra hardware needed? Looks like the leaf packs already come with new bushing and U-bolts. I think thats about all that should be needed right?

UPS tracking says they wont be here till the 20th. Which means Ill probably end up thrashing Fri night to get these on before a big trip up into the Allagash Sat/Sun. So my margin for error is pretty slim haha

Just found the install pdf. Looks like I should be all set..

Also, @Meckman dont think Ive seem that front bumper before. Who makes it? Its got a nice ARB look to it, without the full hoops

I had a shop install my setup. They didn’t run into any issues with the leaf pack. I also added Wheeler’s U-bolt Flip Kit, their Superbumps and their 2” extended brake lines for safe measure.

I haven’t regeared mine, but I’m quite sure it’ll be necessary for 315’s lol

I've been doing quite a bit of research on this. Everyone has an opinion, which is good. In a nut shell I found that going to 33’s (285’s) if you want the truck to feel as though it did when it was stock (265’s)......4.10’s is the gear you want. It is a very friendly gear for highway use only increasing the rpm’s by 150-200 at 70 mph. It makes the truck feel much peppier however if off-roading is your thing, 4.56’s is better. That gear is much better for off road use but shitty for highway use. Again, everyone has an opinion. It’s up to how you want to primarily use your truck. I’m going 4.10. For a even a bigger tire, 4.56 may be your best bet. My research was around 33’s (285’s)
ECGS has a 4.10 kit very fairly priced.....

I’ve been doing lots of research on this is well and did read a lot of opinions. The speed limit here tops at 50mph, there are no real highway/freeway speeds. I definitely lost the pep, but grew accustom to how my truck handles and really am not too bothered by it. The extra $2-$3k to regear doesn’t persuade me enough

Sometimes I wish the speed limit in my area was a bit slower, I prefer to drive slow. It crazy how mad people get when I'm in the slow lane doing 5 under. Granted the highway speed here is 70-75 and the interstate is 80. Most people do 10-15 over what ever the posted limit is.

At least you’re doing the right thing by moving to the slow lane, they shouldn’t be getting mad. Here people use the fast lane like it’s the only lane, while going slow. Then you’ve got the sheep tailing each other still behind the slow person in the fast lane. The drivers here, man, hoof.

I don’t think it’ll be that much.....the kit is 1000ish then you just gotta but a couple oem seals which I can give you the part numbers....then just labor. I’m sure it isn’t cheap but all together shouldn’t be over 2k. As far as the feel of it. I’m accustomed to it too. However I’m well aware of how it used to feel. It’ll be awesome to have 285’s and the pep it had stock.

I initially wanted to regear to 4.56 by the end of the year before jumping up to a 315/75/16. but... yea lol
I'll definitely be doing gears, got a quote and it isn't as bad as I thought.. Just need to save up

Drove my truck 40 miles today, can confirm. I want gears, I feel very slow than the usual 4.slow we know and love

Hey another s/c pro in Utah, what’s up neighbor! I’m down in Sandy will keep an eye out for you from over in the left lane

How long have you had your truck? Did you find it locally?

I'm also in Sandy roughly 86th and 7th. Just got the truck yesterday, original owner lived in Heber. I occasionally tow and just wanted more power. My brother in-law has an 18 Tundra and swears I ill regret not getting a Tundra, he also only drives 2 miles to work. Mine is defiantly longer commuted, working in Millcreek.

Right on, congrats! I’ve towed a 4K lb camper with no prob on mine and I don’t even have the tow package, just the hitch. The higher torque with the S/C is where it’s at.

If you need hookups on local Toyota guru mechanics or other stuff, hit up the Utah thread or shoot me a PM, I’ll be happy to help.

Hope to see you around, I work near 98th & 7th.
