I think about getting another car but then I ask what was the point of the S/C if I am not enjoying it everyday.

Main reason I want another car is as a backup and to be able to do big projects on the truck that take longer than a weekend.

Fuck that’s my problem. Killing time and waiting for my truck to be done at a shop gets old

Agreed man and back on the east I could road bike to work...here in AZ everything is way too far to do that. Only major thing left is to cage my cab, but yea I need another vehicle to be able to drop it off for that length of time.

Well when I got my current Tacoma it was pre discovery of TW and I traded in my early model 2nd Gen SR5 because I didn't want to pay 3k to replace the cats. If I had known about TW before then I probably would have kept that truck ... but then I wouldn't be in this tread because it wasn't a Baja or Pro.

But yeah now that I am older and smarter the truck stays and a third car is on the list.

The cats were only part of the reasoning. Old truck didn't have bluetooth / nav / backup camera / etc...

Funny thing is my current truck doesn't have bluetooth and nav because I ripped out the factory head unit and went with a single DIN and have never hooked up the mic.

Never used the factor NAV as it ended up being shit and it was easier to use a phone.

A decent beater is $2-3k. $3,000 buys you 40 days in a rental car or 100+ Uber’s. The insurance on a spare car will cost you one car rental a month. Then add up maintenance and all the other costs.

Jon Lovitz was on Spike Ferestens car podcast a few months ago. The question came up to the extent ‘why do you like the cars you like’. And Jon summed it up perfectly. (Paraphrasing / butchering) “If you own cars that are fun to drive, then everywhere you go...you have fun”.

I drive 45k+ per year for work, on and off construction sites. I used to own a bunch of fun German cars and sold my soul a little to do this job in basic half tons 12 years ago. They have all been nice trucks but ehh boring. My Baja is soo much worse on the highway than my old Silverado LT. But it is fun to drive. I love looking back at it, working on it, and going places with it. So yah, does it suck a little on a long highway trip? Yes. Would a more comfortable vehicle be a more enjoyable experience? No.

Prime example: I never would have taken my old Silverados out to meet some other forum members on the cape cod seashore. But this weekend I took my kids out for a really cool and memorable adventure.

Sooo a 2015 inferno pro with 56k miles should be listed in dealer inventory shortly...
Would be interesting to see if it'd end back up on here with a new member.
