I hear you. I LOVE my truck and like you soooo much has gone into it. With some of the deals going on I contemplated it for a quick minute. I guess if I really needed to jump up like you I’d be singing a different tune.

Decided to ditch the DK lowers and make it a bit more of a "baja" so have my work cut out for me as soon as I send my shocks out so they can grow a bit longer :D

Current setup with stock length lowers...
And some work below... Glad my midlife crisis has been with Toyotas
Went with the 2" cause I don't really want glass fenders.

Yeah went with the TC 2" long travel so 2" per side 4" total. Baby stuff compared to a lot of these guys in the LT forum but gotta start somewhere... The 1st pic is with the Dirt king factory length uniball lowers so it will be a bit wider when finished..

That’s gonna look awesome. Is there a ton of fab work with the 2” kit?

It's bolt on other than a cab mount chop. Although if you are going to use it I would gusset everything and anything . After I install this it's going in the shop to have welded on the Marlin Crawler HD lca kit, Total Chaos coil bucket gussets, Dirt Design secondary hoops along with the engine hoop mounts and the rear frame boxed with a DMZ kit plus some other work... Probably don't need all of this but I figured while it's there might as well have it done....

Definitely sounds like baby stuff......lol. I’d have no use for it, I think it would look badass.

I have 2013 Baja and was wondering what size tires I can run on 17” rims with out rubbing. It has the original stock suspension of the Baja series which I heard it might be 3” in the front and 2.5” or 2” in the back but could be totally wrong about that. The rims and tires it had on before I traded them were 16” rims with a 285 tire and 0 rubbing. Im looking into a 285 tire with my 17” rim but don’t know if it will rub

One trip to the desert and you would be hooked! Plus you are in the right state for it.. Below is a pic of why I am doing everything extra this was last year's trip to Cali for some fun should have had gusseted spindles before I went but ran out of time and it really cost me big in the long run lol.. All in good fun though with the good comes the bad just gotta roll with it sometimes...

It’ll depend on your backspacing and offset on your new 17’s. Providing you and the proper spacing, 285/70/17.....

2013 tacoma trd off road "TX TRD"

i am a new owner of a 2013 tx trd and i am still somewhat confused on the differences between them all. it is my understanding that a tx is an off road with some extra stuff, and that a tx baja has upgraded suspension but whats the difference between a pro and a baja?

The Baja was essentially the pro before the pros came out. 12-14, same wheels, suspension (except the pro has 600# springs Baja 650#) and exhaust. Once the pros came out they added a few small cosmetic differences. Body colored rear mirrors, grill, badging.....

Try and look them up to find the backspace. Also, maybe turn your wheel to full lock to one side and see how much room is there between the tire and uca.....and just try and judge it from there....

Would you happen to know what the stock suspension is? Like a Baja vs sport or off road same year? Total height in inches?

The Baja has a 1.75” lift in front over stock (sport and off-road). No lift in the rear. Total height in inches....stock or Baja.....not sure. I’m sure a google search can reveal that.

Finally fuckin clay barred and partially compound for the first time ever after almost 7 years of ownership then waxed and no I didn’t take pics but I did take Advil and Amino-X because I’m a genius for doing this after working out and other shit but here is what the anthracite beadlock style wheels look like without the rings after the wheels have been cleaned up from all the dirt and grime that were hiding:

Found this info on the Baja but doesn’t clarify if that makes the front a total of 3” from a stock sport or off-road suspension

Sport and off-road ride heights are the same I believe......the Baja/Pro are 1.75” higher in front and no lift in the back. I see the motortrend article states the rear is 1.5” lifted in the rear but it’s wrong.
