Sorry, "right side drive". That's why you never see the cool Japanese cars imported and only those approved for safety and emissions by NHTSA get in.

    Long answer:

    11. Importing a right-hand drive vehicle.

In order to be lawfully manufactured or imported for sale in the U.S., a motor vehicle must comply with all applicable FMVSS issued by NHTSA. It is possible for a right-hand drive (RHD) vehicle to be manufactured in compliance with the FMVSS.

A motor vehicle that was not originally manufactured to comply with all applicable FMVSS, and/or was not so certified by its original manufacturer, in the form of a label permanently affixed to the vehicle, cannot be lawfully imported into the U.S. unless it is determined eligible for importation by NHTSA. The agency makes these decisions on the basis of a petition from an RI. These are business entities that are specifically approved by NHTSA to import nonconforming vehicles and to perform the necessary modifications on those vehicles so that they conform to all applicable FMVSS. The petitions must specify that the vehicle is substantially similar to a vehicle that was certified by its original manufacturer as conforming to all applicable FMVSS and is capable of being readily altered to conform to those standards, or, if there is no substantially similar U.S.-certified vehicle, that the vehicle has safety features that comply with, or are capable of being altered to comply with, the FMVSS based on destructive test information or other evidence the agency deems adequate.

That's nuts......just the other day I saw a tricked out Honda Civic that was RHD. I've also seen a Subaru that a guy was selling on Craigslist that was RHD.

This is a pretty cool RHD Japanese car I spotted in CO. Had tags and everything, guy said it was fully legitimized.

The only ones I've ever seen here have been early Fairlady 240Zs. From my understanding it's nearly impossible to get anything here. Not saying it can't be done as it could be that these cars were tested but I know they have to send over something like 5 units for NHSTA just to crash so they can be considered safe enough to be street legal.

Looks fantastic and I love that color on the Pro! Do you have any pics looking straight at the tire from the front or rear or any shots comparing them to the 265's? I really like the idea of the 255 tire but worry about the skinny tire look, which is something I would rather avoid.

It does look great, I'm also a big fan of the color. I bought a used nfab tire carrier just like this one. I was on the fence about using but this just swayed me to go ahead and install it.

The second picture in that post straight on from the front is the best I have right now. I don't think it looks too skinny. It's only 1cm narrower than the ATs that were on there, which is only 5mm off centerline on each side. I feel that's a negligible amount, visually. What makes them "look" skinnier is because they're 3 inches taller, but with the front and rear bumpers being in place and being on the Pro suspension, you don't see enough of the height of the tire from head on to make it look odd.

I love it, but it does make using the bed interesting. There is still room for storage below/in front of the tire, and behind it. You'll just have to be creative. What I liked is the fact that if I DO need the whole bed, I can just pull everything out.

Traded the 2015 TRD Pro 6spd Supercharged on a PowerWagon and could not be happier. My 2011 Tacoma with the TX Baja package (Added by me) is still treating me great. My 1985 Toyota never skips a beat.
Sorry for the late reply. .

The blowouts I had with BFG were all KO's I have not run KO2 yet. Also I had such bad luck with the old mud terrains, although they performed decently well they didn't last for shit.. I never even wore half the tread out.

Bot BFG at and KO AT which I believe are the same they just changed the marking with age I have found to be great all around. Leave something to be desired off road but do great on the road and have great life.. if you can keep from blowing one out under heavy use. Which for me meant E rated tires.

I will either get KO2 or KM2 next on this taco for sure.

Got it...thanks for the description! I will have to seriously look into the 255's when I replace my tires here soon

2013 Tacoma TX Baja Barcelona Red
I've had my '13 DCSB Baja Barcelona Red in possession for about a week. I bought it from my parents, who were the original owners. So far I've been enjoying it on the road, although the TRD Catback is taking time to get used to hearing.

I do have one question, should the truck still have came with a steel spare with the original (smaller) tire size? It does have aftermarket wheels on it from the dealer. Sadly I have no idea what happened to the TRDs and they weren't willing to swap them back. Instead the dealership just didn't charge them the addendum sticker price. The tires on the 4 wheels are the right ones, BFG LT265 KOs. Not that it matters too much now, was just curious what should have came with it.

My Pro came with a Rugged Trail on a steel wheel under the bed. My understanding is all of the trucks came this way.

I have a 14 BAJA.....I actually just took off my spare a couple days ago and I have the same as Dave 41079. I believe he is correct with his comment as well.

You can bring them in now under the 25 year law, they only have to pass emission if your state/county requires it. Very easy to import now but has to be 25 years and older

Ah that makes sense. Too bad everything on my list is inside of 20 years!
