That is what I was expecting. Maybe when I get around to needing the tires replaced I can buy a matching wheel and just replace all 5 tires. Just in case I blow one and need a matching spare to get out of trouble...

    No mods whatsoever!
Just did the same here. Steel spare started rusting and looked like garbage.

Can anyone chime in on whether or not 285/75/16 will fit on a stock baja or pro?

Yes.....I believe it will. I have 295/65/18 with very minor trimming to the plastic.

Interested in this as well. Specifically, how well do they fit the TRD fake beadlock wheels that come on the Baja and Pro (backspacing, UCA rubbing, etc)? I seem to remember that Arkansas30 is running that size, but I can't remember the specifics.

I'm not sure what the back spacing is on those wheels. A member on here "Pro Taco 11" just recently put on 285's Goodyear wrangler duratracs.....he doesn't rub on anything.

I googled "Tacoma with 285's trd beadlock wheels" and found a whole bunch of pics.......most of them stem from Tacoma world. Below is my truck.
The last one is right after I got it before I put my trd pro grill on.

No problem.....but keep this in mind.....which I can't understand. This wheel set up I have, I bought when I got my last Tacoma. It was a 13,dbl cab long bed. I'll include a pic below. I lifted it 3" in front with toytec/bilstien 5100's and Dakar rear leaf pack 2.75"....basically 3" with 5100's long travel in the back.

I had to cab mount chop that truck, trim a bunch of plastic, trim the rear of the front fenders a tad. What's confusing to me is that truck was lifted 3" all around.......my Baja is a 2 1/2 stock lift.
After I got it, I was planning a cmc assuming it would rub badly since it was a lower lift. I was board one Sunday afternoon and I wanted to see what my wheels were gonna look like on my new baja. I swapped in a wheel and to my surprise nothing rubbed except for some very minor plastic on the front inner part of the wheel well. I quickly trimmed it off....took 5 minutes total, put on the other 3 wheels and away I went. I since added an icon progressive AAL which doesn't matter here for what we are talking about. My old 13 below.

I hear you, that's why I've been asking around, I see guys running fat 33s with no issues then guys shaving fenders, maxing their caster out and chopping the cab mount for tall 32s. Guess it varies that much.

No problem at all!! I also had total chaos ucas on the black 13.....anything else don't hesitate to ask. But to the first question......you'll be fine with 285's on the trd beadlocks. That I know for sure.
