Is Toyota still using the eibrach springs on the trd pro fox set up? These springs seem to be junk, I have never seen or heard of so many premature breaks from any other manufacturer.

You've been looking for a couple years, if I remember right? Good luck in your search. Even though my Land Cruiser has turned into my daily, I can't bring myself to sell my Pro.

sorry for being off topic here: being this is the baja/pro thread does anyone with these trd beadlock rims have any recommendations on where to get the rings polished or refinished?

Yeah I’ve been looking for a while now, either they’re sold by the time I see them or they’re across the country and the communication sucks.

almost got a inferno in Florida but the guy would always take days to reach back to me

Any good, local, metal polishing shop should be able to handle them. Any chance you have some of your own tools? I've refinished a couple of them now and although they don't look perfect they are way, way better.

If you have your own compressor, a bench grinder and a die grinder you can pick up the rest of the needed supplies for cheap (less than $100, maybe less than $50) at Harbor freight. Then after an hour or so of work and you'll have rings that look new from 5' (assuming they weren't absolutely trashed to start with. But, I've taken out some gouges I thought were pretty massive and although you can see the repair it wasn't immediately noticeable unless you looked close. If the damage is bad enough the only true repair would be to add metal back on by welding.

Personally not a fan of the mods or wheels, and good luck finding the fake beadlocks, but it's an option.

I wonder how hard of a life it has had with that brake controller mounted up...

Also, lies in that ad. "TRD Supercharger" but under hood photos are clearly a NA truck.

No gouges really just looks like some of the polish has alot of etching around the small bolts that hold the rings. would a quality clearcoat work after doing all the prep work mentioned above to get it back or close to original? I have all said tools and have plenty experience doing shade tree body work but never attempted anything with a chrome like finish.

The aluminum rings aren’t polished, they’re more a scratch-brush finish. Should make it easier to do, and no need for a clear coat … right?

    EXACTLY!

They are lightly clear coated aluminum which makes them easy to work with compared to steel. If you’ve done body work then you’ll be able to knock this out easy.

Same concept as body work. Use whatever the least aggressive tool/grit needed to remove any flaws. Then work down to progressively less aggressive grits. Then when it’s ready hit it with a polishing wheel on your bench grinder if you’re comfortable with that (now that I think about it it’s kinda sketchy). Any sort of polisher you’re comfortable with should work. I just used Mother’s mag and aluminum polish. I’m sure there are all sorts of other polish products you could use as well.

If you don’t want them polished you could do a brushed look. After a light polish use some extra fine steel wool, aggressive polish or fine sanding sponge. Something to just knock the sheen down and give it a uniform texture.
