My first 4x4 was a 77 FJ55 Iron Pig bought in 79 with my first reenlistment bonus. Yeah I stuffed the tires LOL

Got tired of the bronze valve guides wearing out on the 2F engine by 20K and took a 4 bolt main Chevy 350 acid dipped it punched it .010 over pop up pistons low end cam back when everyone else was doing wild eccentrics and parked a Holly 650 on top. Used a Man A Fre conversion kit and shoehorned it where the 2F used to be. Had to cut the drive shaft when Man A Fre said to dynamically balance it they knew what they were talking about LOL.

Figured my first 4X was a Land Cruiser so what was likely to be my last should be as well. 2 years ago pulled a guys Polaris Ranger out of the woods on the Mn. Canadian border with my Ranger Northstar when we were both grouse hunting. He was lucky that I happened to come by, often go a week or more without seeing anyone and he was grateful. Come to find out he is one of the owners of the largest Toyota dealers in Northern Mn. He gave me the heads up on the new Land Cruiser. Because of him I was able to get on the waitlist last August for the new LC250. I am still #2 on the list.

2 months ago made the mistake of going to the Toyota dealer where I am on the waitlist originally to test drive a 4Runner. I trust 6's and 8's not convinced on the new engine platforms yet. Wasn't impressed with the 4Runner they still have a problem getting out of their own way. He almost had to fight with me to test drive a GX460 but won. Only took me a few minutes into the drive and that V8 GX is now sitting in my driveway. It is a Land Cruiser Prado 150 to the rest of the world.

With TRD Pro wheels and Wildpeak 265/70r17 tires. Sliders are being powder coated and should land in a couple weeks. If weather holds will do the bumper chop next week and upgrade headlights. And front AC condenser skid plate. More to follow.

Threw my 2013 Baja T|X Taco up on FB Marketplace at a ridiculous high price, had 90K on it and lots of Mother Nature's pinstriping. Was torn about selling it but the GX puts a smile on my face everytime I get in it. Insurance on the Taco wasn't bad but still $70 a month to use a vehicle a couple times a month didn't make a lot of sense to me. Torn so listed it for $21K when I paid $32 for it in 2013, figured it wouldn't sell. And everyone back then when an off road sold for $28k said that a Baja was a waste of money.

    No it wasn't

Love your 40 and hope that it provides you many years of service yet. What a great rig! Oh and your Taco isn't bad either :D

Yes I put a Land Cruiser Toyota logo on my Baja. Because memories and history.

I've got a '24 4Runner TRD PRO inbound and I haven't been able to convince myself to trade or sell my '14 T|X Baja.

    Tough decision - details?

I can’t wait to see the 24 Pro, specifically with a wescott lift (once they presumably come out with it) and aftermarket wheels giving it a little poke.

'24 4Runner PRO, not '24 Tacoma PRO - I'm assuming you were referring to my comment.

Agreed the '24 Tacoma PRO will be sick, but I gotta get me some of that last year Japanese manufactured goodness lol.

As a 4runner owner I have to agree the last of the Best! This is my 2014 I am selling it to a really good friend but it's the best factory Toyota I have owned in the last 10+ years! Any way Enjoy I have had zero problems or even a rattle with truck and it's been all over the south west...

Killer - It looks brand new. Good to know your 4Runner has been so reliable - how many miles have did you put on it?

I almost bought a new 2014 4Runner Trail Premium but the dealer wasn't budging off of MSRP so I walked. About 4 months later I picked up my 2014 Baja instead. Been driving it for almost 10 years now, made in Texas - ZERO issues. So for now I'll keep my '14 Baja and have a '24 4Runner PRO.

So I gotta ask, why are you selling your 4Runner and what will you be driving?

Yeah it's fairly modified as I have installed cam gears and the rest of the supporting mods... It moves out with the 4:56 gears...

Thanks for that great story! Those iron pigs are very cool. Are you still in line for a new LC when they come out?

    Yup!

I didn't think I'd sell this one, but its forsure went to a good home.

:laugh::laugh: I should have never logged back in.
Didn't intend to sell it, but a good friend offered to take it off my hands so it was a done deal. I literally don't know what I want as a replacement though lol.
