I like it. How long have you had the Baja decal removed and is there any fade where the sticker used to be?

Just bought the truck an hour ago, and just had the decal removed an hour ago. Not a bit of fading. Negotiated the decal removal as part of the purchase from the dealer, so their detailing guys did it. Heat gun first. Then they wiped it down to remove the residual outline of glue. Then they waxed and buffed it.

Left the T/X square on in the back.

Any idea what they used to remove the residual glue?

No. It was in a generic spray bottle. But I have to assume it was something very mild.

Dealer agreed to install TRD Pro Front Skid Plate on the Baja. Any reason to do that?

So, basically, better than what I've already got but only a little better.

So any reason not to do it?

Yes, dealer is throwing in TRD Pro skid plate for free. So, go for it?

Shoot if they're giving it for free take it. X2 on a bedmat ask if they can throw in that too(another 100$ plus value item). My salemans gave me a bedmat when I got my Pro without me asking haha.

Free is good. I'd take one right now for free. Sell it later when you get a real skid plate. Bonus cash!

That's a good point, I think I need to take mine off soon before it gets messed up and sell as well.

Ok, thanks, but all else being equal, having the TRD Pro skid plate on there is an improvement over what the Baja came with?

Dunno if it's OEM, but how will it mess up the paint?

Just the way the mounts are on it, grime and crap can build up there. I actually just removed mine on my hood as I like the look without it. There were a few little scratches from stuck debris, but the majority can be cleaned up and buffed out in 20 min.

Anyone know how much water the Baja can ford in the event of severe and unavoidable flooding?

Probably a typo and he meant TRD skidplate, which is aluminum, not white.

But if the stealership is offering for free, take and sell it. The money can go towards an actual skid. No?

My 2013 did not come with the tow package. It was the only Access Cab Baja I could find in the area so I bought it anyway - so many 4 doors. Not really a big deal though. The dealer added a factory tow hitch and 4-pin connector, and it's not hard to covert to 7. I will eventually be adding a second battery and high output alternator for other reasons, so that takes care of the heavy duty battery and alternator options. I'm looking into trans coolers now and most aftermarket coolers are much better that the factory unit, but the factory piece is not that expensive to add. The only part that is proving hard is the oil cooler. There are plenty of cheap oil-to-air options available, but the oil-to-water factory unit is superior and very expensive to add with new parts. If I could find the filter adapter and thermostat housing used I'd buy them in heartbeat, but I don't think it's necessary - it's the transmission cooler that is really needed in an automatic.

By the way, nice thread. I'll put some pics and info about my truck up when I get a chance.
