You think a used Pro and OR will have only a $500-$1000.00 or more price difference ?

If the Pro was available in a LB I would likely have bought it over my DCLB Off Road ( except that CA has $10K or close to it over MSRP.

Depending on the specs I do.

A lot of people dont like the color choices and SB configuration of a Pro.

If both are 3-5 yrs old, same mileage and the OR is loaded with tech, factory leather and a longbed I wouldnt see a big price difference in that and what a Pro would get.

Updated, KBB, 2017 OR with standard options including tech package is $32,920 vs 2017 Pro with standard options is $39,034 (20K same mileage). Interesting private party pricing and difference on a used 2017 Taco.

Standard options are not the same a full tech packages available for OR.

Standard options are a stripped OR.

You can get an OR with all the same (premium package) tech and factory leather now.

Premium package wasnt available in 2017. Wait for the 2019 trucks to age 3-5 years.

This is true but the premium pkg with JBl w/ 400w sub and speakers, leather, moonroof etc.. is about $3500 in addition to the $1300 for tech ( I have one ) so I know what Prem/tech costs

Yeah, tech package. Its all relative, in 3-5 years the 2017s will be 3-5 years older than a 2019.

    Ok, let's make this simple.

A three to five year old loaded 2019 OR and 2019 Pro with the same mileage will be within $500 -$1000 apart on the resale and not worth the 3-5k MSRP plus any "market adjustment" you'll pay today for a Pro.

Pretty sure the OP is deciding on new trucks.

If I wanted a SB I certainly would have gotten a Pro. The DCLB Off Road with Tech/Prem was what I bought. It was my compromise for the LB. I think there is tremendous value in a FACTORY WARRANTIED 1” lift with Fox tuned Shocks specifically designed to maximize performance and drivability of the Pro. Sure I wish they added some HP and slightly larger tires. I was at the dealer yesterday for a part and they had 3 Pro’s all over $52k with MT and an AT at $55K. Ouch-$9k bump over MSRP

I highly doubt the difference will only be $500-$1000 for resale value. I'm pretty sure you are happy with your OR and believe the difference will only be $500-1000. If you believe hard enough, it may even happen.

What do you do when the pro shocks need to be replaced, stay with the same OEM suspension to keep it Pro like?

How will that affect resale if you dont?

I wanted a configuration not offered on the PRO, so I got what I wanted (TRDOR DCLB) and just added the lift and Kings etc., and grill ha ha to get exactly what I wanted.

    Hi All!
Im new to TW. Thought I would jump in and Share what I did. I bought a 2018 ODCLB with out the tech package and moon roof. With the assumption with the difference in price I could have a good custom build. I ultimately decided against the Pro because here in San Diego the Dealers are getting close to 10k over asking!! Even the Used ones are commanding a premium.

I'm happy to have a longbed with options and color truck that I wanted

In 2016 there was no Pro, the OR was top of the line and first year of a longbed in that trim and that's why I bought one. Since the Pro has been introduced the line between the 2 has been getting narrower by the year. Last years Pro option will be available on next years OR so Toyota continues to blur differences between the two trims; Color, tech and leather options for example. That is where resale values will become more similar as the newer trucks age. It just hasnt happened for today's MSRP, Toyota and dealers seem to still want to price gouge for a truck with some cosmetics and bolt on suspension.

Until they add a motor / power adder that's only in the Pro, that will be the decider but I dont think it will happen any time soon.

I got mine at MSRP in San Diego...it’s possible to avoid the markup.

I think the only way to get a sunroof on an off road is to buy the Premium Package in addition to the required tech pkg (required to get the Premium Pkg). It lowers the cost of tech to $770 and then add another $2450 for the Premium Pkg. Someone will correct me if I am mistaken about the sunroof and likely swear and attach some kind of unicorn GIF blowing smoke out its ARS. All I have is my window sticker to go from!
