It wouldn't surprise me if the dealers won't warranty the Fox shocks or other added "pro only" equipment. They can easily say that you abused said parts offroad and the damage is wear related.

You'd miss out on the ATRAC/MTS/Crawl control, rear locker, and inverter. For the suspension I believe TRD puts a lot more effort into getting it tuned specifically for the Tacoma as opposed to off the shelf Fox shocks or other brands. I think that's a big deal myself.

The TRD-tuned suspension has always been the big deal with the Baja and now the Pro, the rest is bling. TRD puts the extended travel shocks on so you're getting top of the line there, they have the brake line extenders and modified bumpstops built in for the extended travel shocks.

MTS and CRAWL largely gimmicks. I should know as I have them. They are not really necessary for even the hardest of offroading challenges. I've used them before only to try them not because I needed them

20% off at your local dealer's parts counter is about what TRDParts4U or Camelback Toyota sells online on a daily basis. They can afford to do this because parts markup at the dealer is normally ~30%. ;)
For 3 years. Meanwhile the 2.5" coilovers from Icon and King have lifetime warranties (though they don't cover seal replacements).
We don't know that yet. As with all OEM suppliers, Fox would be under extreme pressure from Toyota to cut costs. Based on the photos, they are using a non-inverted design to avoid a machined upper mount and lower spring perch. I wouldn't be surprised if they went to a crimped/welded body to reduce costs. That said, my Icons haven't needed a rebuild in 5 years.

True. You'd hope though, like Ford, that Toyota would see the advantage of a rebuildable shock to their customer.

If I blew a Fox non rebuildable Toyota special I wouldn't replace it with OEM. I'd go straight to Fox 2.5's. I'm sure Toyota will take that into consideration as well.

Exactly. The trd off road is a much better buy cash wise and probably just as capable as the pro imo.

Theres allot of mention in this thread about Fox 2.0's. Everything I'm seeing says the new foxes on the Pro are 2.5" INTERNAL BYPASS units. Isn't that a vast improvement over the 2.0's?

Don't get too caught up in marketing hype. I play in the rockies, much like you will, and a true bypass or internal bypass shock won't show nearly as much improvement in the lower speed wheeling this area has.

Will the Fox suspension on the Pro be similar in build to the Fox 2.5's in quality of ride? Probably. Are the Fox 2.5's an excellent coilover shock? Yes they are. Will the factory Fox TRD Pro shock be any better than the other offerings out there for the Tacoma? Likely not. In fact, it won't have any ride height adjustability nor will it likely be a true coilover. Both of those things have to be factored in as well.

Pretty sure this is incorrect. 16s shown on all preproduction models.

We'll see. I hope you are right. Because the other possibility is the Toyota integrator has no idea rebuilding shocks is even a thing (since it's uncommon with OEM) and just gives Fox a low price point to hit...

Toyota might bastardize the product further by just buying the shock piston from Fox and sending it to a lower-cost supplier in Mexico or China to complete the shock assembly. Volvo did this with Ohlins.

Yep. And they are not on the market yet:

Compare the design to the 17" 4Runner TRD Pro wheels, which have been on sale for a while:

^That's debatable. Functionally 16" wheels are better for off-road (less wheel and more tire). Arctic Trucks uses 15" wheels with massive negative offset (to clear the calipers):
