Pre Covid you could have bought a TRD OR for 33.5k. I paid 34.6k out the door for my 2019 Long Bed with tech package brand new.

Checks out. But packages range from 33k-42k and has been that way for years.

I'll agree with others here too about the long bed. I got a short bed. Definitely see the long bed being more useful for lots of people. I'm on the fence about needing one, but I certainly do like them and if I could go back, sure, I'd get a long bed.

The base MSRP for the OR is about $34.7k and goes up as you add packages and options.

    Packages?
    Audio/Navi
    LED's
    Tech
    Floor mats & Doors
    Black out
    Paint protection
    Long bed/short bed
    Leather
    etc etc

It's just more options. But @crazysccrmd is right, you'd be hard pressed to find a TRD OR around 34k now with the inflation and if you did it would be base model TRD OR. Probably closer to 36k now? I could be wrong.

A loaded OR is well above 45k MSRP. At least they were in 2021 when I bought mine. Your numbers are low.

34-36 was for base. Yes, 48 would be everything including overpriced TRD exhaust.

Nah, you just paid over MSRP or had a bunch of extra bullshit added on. MSRP for a DCSB 6AT 4x4 with highest option package is $44.3k.

Yea 44k is with none of the extra extra stuff, like mud guards, extra tailgate emblems, trd extra's, etc etc. If you go above 44k, that's all accessories and not package stuff. But yes, people in states that rape them on taxes and such usually walk out around 47 for a fully loaded version. Way overpriced. Plus, we all know how some dealers love to mark things up. There is a thread someone made here all about it. One specific dealer that charges like $13k for $4k worth of extra's PLUS markups for lower tier models on top of that. They had an SR5 (I think) going for over 42k or something crazy.

Kinda been said but not fully explained. Pre-Covid 10+% off MSRP was common for ORs but PROs almost always sold for MSRP only. So PROs were in effect ~$10+k more. Now both only sell for MSRP. So PRO is ~$5k more. If you want everything the PRO has I think you would now about break even minus your time. Although adding the skewp would probably put you over.
Me, I got the most base MSRP $38,085 auto OR they offered bc I didn't want most of that stuff. So neither would be "worth" it to me.

I was at a stealership around August 2021. The TRD OR were at $45K and the TRD Pro was at $55K. I drove to four different counties in Southern California to find the cement 2020 TRD OR that I wanted with some of the upgrades I wanted and still paid $36K for a used one with 20K miles. It was insane. I sold my Chevy Silverado and my Dodge Ram 1500 both through private buyers for 3x what I thought I’d get for them because the market was so nuts. The stealership I was dealing with in Orange County was straight up telling me their markup on their new trucks was $9-10K and they were selling them before they even arrived. Mind you, I was looking at the screen of their computers and I saw the MSRP and those were the prices I mentioned above BEFORE they tacked on their $9-10K markup. Like I said in an earlier post, I needed a truck and time was a factor so I hunted around until I could find the color and model of truck I wanted. If I wanted a Pro, I had to pay $55K+ and wait 4-6 months to get one. Which is why I had to go the used route. I don’t know if things have calmed down over the last 6 months but it was ugly out there.

My wording was very poor, so you are correct.

It depends on what you want. Front and rear lockers make A-TRAC/MTS pointless. That system just complicates an axle and brake upgrade. To me, installing a front locker means I want to upgrade the rear axle and locker as well.

However, that is not what I said and sadly I have yet to perfect my mind communication techniques over the internet. Tinfoil makes a great antenna though, so it works sometimes.

Get a Pro if your gonna leave it stock (Other than tires). If your gonna upgrade the suspension, than get a Off Road!

Always crazy out there. If you care about a few thousand dollars then get on a plane to buy one and drive it home. California is and always has been a completely different scenario pricewise than the rest of the country.

Yep … you’d have to make your own out of a fully optioned LB OR like I did! It’s quite a bit more challenging with the 22’s though.

Wanted an AC, no AC Pro, so I made my own. Wasn’t interested in leather or sunroof or fancy nonsense. Absolutely love the truck, the old school H key, and MT.

If both trucks are at MSRP, then it's Pro all the way if you are going to heavily option the off road. If you get the OR with the premium packages and all the tech that the PRO has then the price difference is <$3000. Now if you want just a basic off road with the locker and that's all then the price difference is larger.

I own very heavily modified vehicles and there is something nice about a stock vehicle that you love, that has full warranty. I put a letiner bed rack and decked on the truck. Put a RAS system, tires, and some lighting and the truck drives great. Fun off road and on road.

Could I have gotten a low spec OR, then added suspension, skid protection, seat covers, new grill, new stereo, headlights, tail lights, etc. Sure. But how much savings is there really? That's going to be up to you based on your time, and love of modding. Also, you likely won't get <2% interest rates on all those mod purchases...

If you love customizing then go Trail or SR5 and get after it. But if you are going to fully load your OR, then go Pro.
