FYI that's not a Tacoma...Tacomas weren't around until midway through 1995. What you have there is simply a Toyota 4WD Pickup

Or as they were known overseas, Toyota Hilux

Great looking truck though and I like those wheels on that Pickup even better than I do on any Tacoma

Definitley agree that the 3rd gen wheels don't look so good on 1st gens. But for some reason, they work well on this pickup. Maybe it's the colors, but I like it.

People always want to call the pickups a hilux, or as in this case a tacoma. when they're all different trucks.

The U.S. pickup and the hilux stopped being the same when we soft Americans switched to IFS and didn't want external bed hooks because they look silly.

Now, the Hilux and the Tacoma are pretty much completely different trucks.

What lugs are needed to run these wheels? Anyone running a small spacer to prevent interference?

Just grab some spacers and put em on! Mine came with these ‘16 rims on it and rubbed on left side. 1.25” spacers and the stance is better and no more rubbing.

These wheels come from a third gen with a 265/70 17 tire correct? Anyone running that on a first gen at stock height, curious if it rubs?

Maybe get a 5mm spacer to account for the higher offset of the third gen wheel?

Its a 265/70/16 tire-the 17's are on the sport model and also the 4runner which a lot of people run. It should not rub at all.

Sorry I may be a bit mixed up. The wheels the thread are about, the TRD Pro, those are 17's correct? If so do they come stock with a 265/70/17 tire? Do those fit a first gen without rubbing? Or was that comment only in relation to 16's with 265/70/16 tire?

Looks like they're et0 as opposed to +4mm, so better offset for first gens.

Also 8" wide as opposed to 7". Do the reps still fit a first gen with stock suspension in a 265/70/17 does anyone know?

I run 265/70/17. No lift. No spacers. Only rub at full lock and even then just barely.

Looks excellent, thanks. Are you on the oem 17x7 +4mm offset versions, or the aftermarket 17x8 et0?
