That is an ugly shade of orange.

 

Only comes with a 4 banger. Huh.

 

The only thing I think Toyota should change, to match the Ranger, is the ability to use the rear locker at any time, including 2WD.....and maybe the TT V6 expected for new Tundra and LC....but I know I'm dreaming on that one.

Ford also offers a tune to push it to 320/355.

 

A 4 banger with better performance than the Tacomas 3.5l. It might have less cylinders but with the better low end it 'feels' much more truck like than the V6 and gets better gas mileage.

 

And yet you can find FX4 4x4 Rangers, all day long for thousands less than a TRD OR 4x4 Tacoma.......and I'm a Ford guy, but resale values are typically a pretty good litmus test for the overall quality, reliability and desirability of a particular vehicle.

 

Maybe this is a typical old guy's response, but meh.

 

I wonder for how long that little guy will last with those power outputs.

That turbo 2.3 has been around for twice as long as the Tacoma’s 3.5. It’s a pretty stout little drivetrain. The rangers interior and exterior looks aren’t great but overall it is solid competition in the midsize game that should knock a little sense into Toyota

 

If you think the Ford Ranger competes in any way shape or form whatsoever with the Toyota Tacoma, you've obviously never owned a Ford before. $10K+ more, no manual transmission, and it's got that damn blue oval on the front of it. No thanks.

I think they could've done a little better on the bed graphic. "Tremor" in a 72 pt type doesn't really inspire me to do badass truck guy sh!t.

 

I believe that's actually a description of what your body will do when you get hit with that first Ford repair bill after 20,000 miles.

 

With the upgraded suspension, the Ranger's rear axle has less travel than the Tacoma's IFS front...

On the plus side, Ford separates the anti-intrusion bars from the cab mount, so it's a simple matter of removing the anti-intrusion bars to clear 35s. In a crash, your left foot will be crushed, but it avoids a cab mount chop.
