There are parts of the interior I like. There are a lot of nostalgic elements that would look at home on a mid 70's F150 or Bronco.

But still, a high trim package and still have a keyhole in the steering column (looks like PTS is an additional option)? And I'm not sure how I feel about the aux switch bank on top.

It's an odd spot for sure, but it is a nice feature for this and the Wranglers, esp when mine came like this:

Yeah, the cool thing about fabbing up places to run switches is that at least we can label ours. On that one, you'll have to remember that you wired Aux 3 for the front facing fuck-you spotlight, and Aux 5 is the rear facing. Aux 4 turns on your fridge.

I’m a Ford guy. Had five successive F150s over the years with great success. The last one gave me 252,000 trouble-free miles.

Bought the wife a Ford Explorer Sport. It was loaded. It was also a series of recalls and assorted problems for a year and a half. Wife didn’t trust it, so it had to go.

Got her a 4Runner. She loves it. Same year and a half with nothing more than gas and oil changes. Couldn’t be happier.

No current half ton trucks fit in my garage. They’re all about 3” too long. Deal breaker for me. So... Ranger or Tacoma. Never owned either before. Test drove both. The Ranger was literally a version of the Explorer. Many similarities. Nope. Got the Tacoma. Happy I did.

That was a terribly written listicle. Actually read it:
"With strong marks in safety and an average predicted reliability rating, the Tacoma is a good option for a compact truck that performs well off-road. "

That is 1/4 of the entire slide written for the Tacoma.

Also, wth is "predicted reliability rating"

I'm aware of where I am. Just because this is Toyota forum doesn't mean you have to post outright bullshit to "prove" your point. You can still like your truck without making everything that's not a Toyota a POS. And I was in a boring meeting.

Kid? What a clever things to say; nearly as clever as boomer.

You're the man for thumbing through a clickbait slide show. There was a day when US News and World Report was a respectable outlet. Certainly never was an automotive authority.:rofl:

I'll throw this out, too: They ranked GM and Dodge products higher. Higher even than Ford...

The new Bronco looks like it's trying really hard to be a Land Rover. Even the price tag is about the same.

Turbo = more moving parts, less reliability, and beats the hell out of the rings, valves, journals, and bearings. You aren't going to get 200K miles without having major issues. But so many people don't care anymore and buy a new truck every 3 years when the damn lease is up.

Coilovers, sway bars, wheels, tires, extended studs, intake, head and taillights, seats, short shifter,
Boomer is about as clever and original as "yo mama" jokes back in the 90s. IE, cliche and played way out. Someone who refers to other people as "kid" also probably grew up in the 90s which would preclude them from being a baby boomer.

I was born in '70 so I'm close to boomer territory. But not quite ya whippersnappers!
