I would like a set of the Off-road versions

 

I did not realize the TRD off-road is trademarked. I think you should let everyone who orders one known they (and you) are breaking the federal laws enforced by the FDC. So the buyers are aware of the risk. If I would not have known this, I would not have attempted to order a set.

 

Not to be a bull buster, but I think he said something along those lines in the original post if you go back and read through it all. Plus I think it was also mentioned through the thread as questions in regards to that, or along those lines, came up.

I hope you all are aware of the risk that 92lt pointed out. Someone in the ??FDC?? will hunt you down, take your decals from you, fine you or take you to jail... I mean it's not like the federal government has nothing better to do than troll on TW instead of hunting down terrorist, murderers or mass trademark infringers importing cargo containers of counterfeit purses, etc...

I did not realize the TRD off-road is trademarked either because there are hundreds of sellers on here and on ebay making and selling TRD off-road stuff.
Anyways, good thing we're not making these and just buying it from a company in the UK that's going to get chased down by the US FDC. I'm assuming it's ok until Toyota mails me a letter asking me to stop being the middleman and passing along the decals at cost.

 

I think the only company getting hurt here is Weathertech. Their logo branding is being thrown out for 'counterfeit' TRD stickers. I'm sure Weathertech could contact TRD and ask for permission to sell their products with TRD branding, but I'm sure that licensing fee would be outrageous and the cost would get passed down to us.

Besides, how different is this from the guy who sells TRD bed stickers or the guy who sells Tacoma tailgate letter inserts? If anything Toyota should make high quality TRD image files available to the public to promote branding.

Weather has nothing to do with it. You own the product, it's yours to do what you please with it. Their decals come off by themselves practically. If anything it would be Toyota having a problem with using their logo but the amount of knock off and home made TRD stuff shows that's not really going to be an issue especially for a single person selling decals.

I have a '16 DCSB SR5 (white) that I COMPLETELY de-badged (spell check doesn't like this spelling). I'm not going to put TRD decals on the truck because "it ain't" a TRD. The truck looks great (IMO) without all those Tacoma, SR5, V6 emblems all over the place. What some don't realize is that they are held on with a two-sided adhesive tape that when wet from rain or car wash stays wet for a long time eventually staining the paint (especially white). What I would like is a decal (preferably black) that says "Tacoma SR5" for the back upper part of the outside of the truck bed (where the TRD stickers go). I have searched all over the internet and have yet to find one like this. Can you make it?

P.S. Threw all the emblems in the trash except for one that I put in my office. As they were removed with fishing line they were all in good shape. Come to find out they have value on eBay for people who have wrecked a truck (Toyota will eat you up $$ wise on new ones).

Please put me in for a TRD sport decal. If Weathertech did a better job of securing their decals to their mats I would not have to buy replacements.

Thanks @DirtyD510 for putting this together. I got mine installed earlier today. This is in a 3rd Gen 4Runner, but same deal. Here they are on tan weathertechs for anyone who may be wondering what they look like on tan. I used contact cement on mine to make sure they don't go anywhere.
