Once the truck is shut off, who cares? I don't see any advantage to having a faster cooling truck in the driveway.

I do know that a cooler engine can give better mileage/performance in theory, but I don't think the amount of air that the scoop would catch would make a difference. I think you need a tonne of air for any effect. That being said, the big ol' engine cover makes it a moot point.

As for the roof scoops, I'm not sure if it makes it worse, or if it's already reached terminal velocity of craptastic, but I think they put them on crooked.

My boss has one of those new old style Mustangs with scoops all over and the're sealed. Why?If anything it makes the vehicle slower. The same thing with the FJ Crusier, what good does that front "scoop" do if it's just a hunk of plastic?

Also,a little off topic, but why would they make an awesome off road vehicle like the FJ and then put that ugly ass top on it that you can't see out of?Does Toyota actually belive FJ owners never back up?

Dad's truck, minor mods.. Saving for my own :)
I took out the black plastic guard. Ive had no problems with it and I have noticed it cools of the engine a bit. Now mud is easier to get in, but thats what the engine covers for.
