I used to have a White 2007 SR5, but now I have a White 2008 TRD Sport. The seats in my newer truck are much better than the SR5. The worst seats ever are in the FJ Cruiser though...extremely uncomfortable.

I like the bolstering in the trd seats! ...holds me in the seat better!

I am 6 feet tall 200 Lbs and sr5 are more comfortable to me. I think it all depends on your body build.Smaller build maybe trd would be more comfortable. I also like the softer feel. After playing sports all my life I enjoy the softer feel.

I'm an old guy and the SR5 seats felt more comfortable to me than the Sport seats. I test drove all the models before settling with what I got. Am completely happy with my choice.

The SR5 seats blow. Is it possible to have an upholstery shop improve the lumbar w/o messing up the dial on the side? Has anyone done this?

I just drove from north ga to miami in my SR5 and they didn't bother me too bad for a solid 12 hr. drive. I really hate the fabric though.....it's so "camry" as my girl says. Anybody got some TRD seats for sale??

I have the SR5 seats. After getting the lumbar set right I love em. Now if I could ever get my chair at work to be right!

I have a TRD OffRoad and the seats do seem to hold you in the seat good but I also get lower back pain after driving for 30 minutes or so. Seems like lower back support is just not there and the lumbar thing doesn't do the trick... wrong spot of my back... at least for me. Prob will vary back to back though...

This may be kinda funny but I actually prefer the fabric of the SR5 better.

What I would like to do is somehow get a seat that has drivers height adjustment since my wife is short. I think I might get a non-power seat from the last gen 4runner and transfer the fabric.

^ You need to find a salvage yard and look for a TRD sport or off-road tacoma. I've been trying to find some too.

I really feel comfortable with my TRD seats. Had SR5 seats in an older 4Runner(1991) that I had. /don't know if they would be the same now but for all intents and purposes I think, because I also had back surgery many years ago(1986) I find the TRD seats the best.

As others have said, I like the TRD Sport seats because of the side bolsters. I traded in a 2008 Infiniti G37-S coupe for the Tacoma, so there's no way I could go back to a standard 'truck' seat that are just wide and flat.

FWIW, I'm 6'3", 210lbs, and the TRD seats are still plenty roomy.

I bought a used SR5 and found a smokin deal on a complete TRD interior.

Only spent a couple of weeks with the SR5 seats but I much prefer the appearance of the TRD, and the comfort of them is marginally better.

Not worth paying full price from the dealer to upgrade, but for a net cost of $100-150 it was worth it to me.

Anything is better than the Very uncomphy Dodge Ram seats I had in my Ram, I will take the SR5 seats any day. Have yet to try the TRD seats but maybe one day I will.

maybe its just me, or the way i sit*, but on the TRD seats there is very minimal padding on the lower back portion of the seat. at times i can actually feel the metal bracing in the seat bouncing off my spine/tailbone. uncomfortable to say the least. i dont notice it all the time, but when i do, it makes me want to rip em out and put in some nice recaros or equivalent. in other words if you ditch the SR5 seats, you can do MUCH better than the TRD seats.

i dont know if they are compatible with the taco, but the rav4 sport seats are very comfortable and supportive. something to look into at least.

    * i do not sit like a wankster, all leaned back. just a normal posture easily gripping the wheel at 9 & 3
