I'm happy with the SR5 seats.

Although...a 30 thousand dollar Toyota truck should have leather seats standard.

If I was going through the process of ordering a Tacoma...I would definitely check the 1300 dollar leather seats option.

The SR5 seats are very firm, but in my opinion, very comfortable. The lumbar support is great. The only gripe I have with them is the quality of the fabric which is cheap. My kid's car seat roughed up the fabric in the back seats. It looks bad and is irreparable.

    I agree.

If I'm still in ownership of this truck when the seat fabrics go to hell...and I have the extra coins...I'm gonna replace with 2-tone leather.

I had a 2000 SR5. The seats bothered my lower back. I looked all over for better seats- speed shops, on line etc. and found nothing, then I found a cheap lumbar pillow at a auto supply store. Problem solved. Now I have a '08 SR5 - still using a lumbar pillow and still no sore back.:D

I recently bought a 2010 DC LB SR5. Just went on a long trip and my lower back was bothering me. The back of my thighs were also bothering me, I think because of the angle of the seat bottom. When I was looking to buy, I wanted the TRD seats, but went with the SR5 because they didn't have a DC/LB with TRD Sport package and the price was right on the truck I got. If anyone wants to look into swapping seats, send me note. I'm in the Raleigh NC area.

Recently bought a 2010 DBL CAB with TRD Sport package. I test drove a couple of different Tacomas before I decided on the TRD Sport package - but the seats were one of the main reasons I went the the TRD package. I really, really didn't like the SR5 fabric - thought it looked and felt awful. The SR5 seats weren't all that uncomfortable to me - but I liked the sport seats a lot better. I agree with the ones who like the extra bolstering on the seat sides - so it feels like they hold you in place better. To me the seats are pretty comfortable - although I would probably add an inch or so to the length of the seat bottom. I do think the sport fabric looks a lot better than the SR5 fabric. My wife took one look at the SR5 fabric and ran her hand over the seat and said "no way are we buying this". I said "yeah, this sucks" and walked straight over to a black sand pearl DBL Cab with the TRD Sport package - which I am now driving. Thought I'd have to do a little convincing to get her buy in on the TRD Sport - but the SR5 seats did all the convincing for me. Thanks Toyota!

Noob question. I am going to buy seat covers for my '06 TRD off road access cab. When ordering, do I need to order the "sport seats" or the "bucket seats" They have the adjustable head rest. Also, do I need to get the ones for side air bags? I just dont want to order the wrong stuff and get charged to send it back.

Yes to the sport seats (middle of the cushion will stick out past the sides) and depends if you have the side air bags (there will be a tag on the side of your seat if you do.)

    Does Plasti-Dip count as a mod ?
I test rode four different Taco's. The ones with the 'sport' seats are uncomfortable. I found the seat bolsters digging into my thighs. I'm 6' and 185 lbs. Normal build.
The standard seats were very comfy and supportive.

Now I just need to decide between PreRunner and OffRoad. That'll be another thread.

I was wondering about that..... I'd like the 4x4 with the standard seats. Hope I can find one.

Then you'll be fine as long as you don't want one of the TRDs (Sport or Offroad).
