Definitely an improvement on my ‘13. More of a notched shift and eliminated the funny third gear engagement.

Second thumbs up for the Core shifter, reverse becomes an intentional move, and the other six are actual gates. Install is straight forward, and very doable. Mine does buzz a little in 5th & 6th, but it’s an easy trade off for a direct link to the gear box.

I had one on my '07 FJ for years, made a huge improvement from stock.

What I'm looking for is a real gate for reverse. It's too easy to shift from low to reverse with the stock system and I do a lot of low speed jockeying moving boats around a yard (often with a front hitch on my plow gear) and snow plowing. I'd also like a more positive way to get into low range like I had on my gen 1 truck. I use the knob then have to wait, move the truck around a little, shut the truck down and start it again. But that won't happen. I'm williing to spring for the shifter if it has a solid reverse gate.
