Does anyone know if the spacer on the bolt is needed for the TRD skid plate install? I have 1 bolt without the spacer and went to Home Depot and got some washers to make it the same thickness as the other spacer. I will be installing this tonight. Thanks.

Can someone help me and explain to me why there is so much gap between the skid plate and the bumper? Is it because it is a 13? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I believe the spacer is what keeps the top edge away from the bumper. Without them the edge would be rubbing the bumper. If you stack up some washers to be the same height as the other spacer you should be good to go.

Skid plate is supposed to have a gap. If it set next to the bumper then it would rub the paint off.

Yeah I've got a 12 DCSB and when I installed the TRD skid plate I left the spacers on and I also thought to myself that there was a lot of space between the skid plate and the lower front bumper. I think this is normal... To be honest I've seen a couple of other 12-13's on the road drive by me with TRD skid plates that have a decent gap too. It make have something to do with the redesign of the from bumper on the 12-13's?
