    Enough for now
Thank you for this! I’m gonna take another look this weekend when I drop it and re-install it. I don’t think I removed the cross braces but I’ll double check. I know for a fact the plate isn’t torqued right and the hardware was kind of janky upon install, so I plan on replacing it with the OEM like someone previously mentioned to see if that helps.

It sounds REALLY bad off road and on rough roads lol the sounds worry passengers who aren’t expecting it haha

Just from experience of install and other skids mentioning the same thing. It’s compatible with the sr5 and sport just the air dam has to come off

I personally did NOT remove the member braces but I know people who did. It’s just 4 bolt removal and then the skid bolts go into the removed locations.

    You're welcome!

Other than the member braces and torque, the only other issues that I can think of are:

-- Check that none of the welds are cracked.
-- Maybe measure the spacers. They might be the wrong length?
-- Check the oil filter access fasteners?

Just touch it up with some rustoleum if you have any oxidation spots. That does the trick

If I wanted something that would look like shit after a couple of years in the salt I’d keep the flimsy sheetmetal thing it comes from the factory with and save 400 bucks.
I was simply asking because if it oxidizes to shit in inclement weather, if the answer was a resounding yes - I’d go a different route.
Thanks for the tip on waxing it tho…

Just put it on. It's a little bit of a pain in the ass to put on (awkward and a little heavy), use a jack and some cardboard. Here's the Amazon special on the truck. It looks pretty good

Understood and I get it! I was just trying to point out that it is going to get exposed to all sorts of nasty stuff given where it sits and God only knows what that will do to the plate and hardware over time? Sorry for coming across as an a-hole. But I think you will find that it will hold up pretty good. You will be happy you got it; I certainly like mine and no more taking it off to change the oil.

This doesn’t look like the correct one. There is a front and back skid (2 separate pieces) on the Off-road, but the Pro skid is 1 piece that’s the full size. That looks like the 4Runner “front TRD skid” in the photo even though it’s labeled as Tacoma.

***correction, I double checked the part number and it’s correct. The photo however, is definitely NOT correct***

Shitty website. Plug the part number in BAM and it looks correct.

BAM is always my go to. The free shipping makes the Springhill link a better price overall though. It sucks that you have to double check every part number because the photos are always of random things and sometimes even the name of the item is super misleading. So you have to cross reference every part number before you order
